All of my Snotlings get Diving Tackle as their first skill on my team.

I can see this. Even with MA5, with 5 snotlings, you can cover lots of the back-field. The WD can leap and get in the back-field, but then he will have to deal with a bunch of angry snots with TZs on the ball. And yes, if the ball is really well placed, you may only have one snot with a TZ on the ball. Can't have everything.

If the ball is kicked closed to the LoS, you may be able to bring an Ogre to the ball. If it is far, the WD will need two turns to reach the ball.

And with Diving Tackle and Side Step combo, things get really interesting.

Personally, if I played WE against Ogres, I would be quite worried about getting a WD by himself in the back-field. That's a good way to make sure that this WD will never come back. Sending a pair of WDs could be interesting though. But that's a couple of leaps ...

And this is why I love this game. There is no perfect strategy. And even with the best strategy, the dice can simply ruin everything.

The more I read about Ogres, the more I want to try them.

WD have leap, dodge and block, ogres no skills of that kind, so its very likely that the ogre falls, and the WD dosnt, even with 2 dices, ogre decides...

on a 6, the WD falls, on a 1 and 2, the ogre falls...the magic of block n dodge...

and leaping is unmodified...so i whouldnt expect the WD to fall

I have seen a lot of WD dieing while leaping. Trust me. I would love to play Galaks Ogres, just to see, how they are played.

I've fallen in love with using this team for Street Bowl tournaments. So if we ever play in one of those (might have one at the World Cup ... you could get a chance). I really think if my dice had been better against Solarflare in the first match of the Bell Ringers Brawl that I could have taken him and won that tournament instead of placing 2nd.

My record with the team on the big pitch isn't nearly as great. Its a very difficult team to play ... and I'm actually been strongly considering restarting my league Ogre team from stratch because it was started in LRB 3.0 and as a result ... its not the best 5.0 team it could be.

How do they do vs Flings and Gobbos? Personally, I'd like the tier 3 teams to be relatively competitive vs each other for stunty league play.

Cheers,
Maureen

I beat the Goblin team that played against me even thought they pounded me pretty hard with their weapons.

And yeah Snew ... I guess many folks say that after they lose. However ... I have played games where I'll readily admit I was outcoached. Frank is a great coach but the number of skull outs I had on the block dice just really made it his game. So I didn't feel outcoached just abnormally ill lucked. But I do get what you are saying. I'm looking forward to the next Street Bowl tournament that I can attend and I'm hoping Impact! has their Gnome team ready by then because I'd love to bring them to the Street Bowl street (as an Ogre team).
