double 5 elf blitzer
What do I do? Gve him a Strength skill or take the +1 movement. I've pretty much eliminated the +1 AV idea. Advice???

I think Guard is a great line elf skill, but Blitzers could go well with something like Juggernaut or MightyBlow. Guard isn't a BAD choice, but Guard is more of a "passive" skill, where you're helping other people with their actions. The blitzers are the prime actors, they should be "doing" not "helping". You want skills that help with hitting people.

Really depends on how you are going to use him.
If you play your blitzers like I do, as mobile precision hitters, then juggernaught.
A juggernaught, leap, stripball player is great for defence. It will also help on offence for opening holes in the line...
If you find that your blitzers are getting "stuck in" more then guard may be a better choice.

Yeah my elf blitzers make every effort to never be "in the thick of" anything. In fact the whole team is rarely "in the thick of" anything. We try to play a very elastic defense, with nobody for the opponent to hit except for the blitz.
As Father says, it depends on how you play em.

I play my elves in the thick of it, but my elves are green and are called orcs.
Usualy tactics involving long time bodey contact with opponents on defense / offense usualy end up bad for elves.
I support the Juggernaut idea, Guard is nice to have, but not a neccesary and not fitting for a blitzer.

stripball and juggernaught work together. That's what makes it such a good choice.Blackmore wrote:If using juggernaut to cause a 'push' result, if I also had strip ball would that count as stripping the ball, or can strip ball only be used on 'natural' push rolls??

Yep, MB rocks on elf blitzers! They've got the MA, AG and skills to put that blitz where it hurts (right on that skink/gutter runner/catcher/...) and then MB is priceless. My Dark Elf team has 3 mighty blow positionals and they are awesome. In general for elf teams when rolling doubles:Snew wrote:For me Mighty Blow is a slam dunk. The only thing that may even come close to trumping that is a MV8 Blitzer. MV8 is nearly perfect! Now I don't know what I'd pick...
str 3 positional -> mighty blow
lineman -> guard
Can't go wrong with that!
