I don't get the Tackle on the Runner. Rather useless with Dauntless.
But anyway, I would take Kick or Pro. I can't believe you aren't considering that . It really brings piece of mind when making 1 die blocks with lineman. i have 3 linemen with pro and I'm happy with it. Then you can give it dauntless next to help against the lizzy team. I love rerolling those pushes with Pro!

I obviously use my players different to how you do, but that is fine, were we to meet in Tournament (assuming I ever make it to one) I would confuse you which can only work to my advantage, your style seems to reflect my league opponents too.datalorex wrote:I don't get the Tackle on the Runner. I have never trusted Pro, too much like loner for me and I hate loner. I have never seen pro used effectively, it smacks of bad planning. I would be grateful if you could put up a mock scenario that you have faced with your 3 linemen and show how it helped, that way I could see it's benefit.
Kick as I said doesn't seem worth it given my next opponent will patrol his backfield and use safe throw to it's max, so maybe sure hands or kick off return is the way to go, this time.

Ok, so Game 5 last night versus High Elves belonging to my mate Paul.
He usually plays Humans and the style difference is something he still struggles with.
So anyway a 4-0 victory and 2-1 on casualties to me later and the high points were as follows
The three casualties were as follows
High Elf Lineman - killed by Snow Troll (apo'd to BH)
High Elf Lineman - SI'd by Ulf (-1AV)
Norse Runner - killed by High Elf Lineman (apo'd to BH), this is the high Elf lineman who was later SI'd so despite the -1AV he is staying on the roster as this is game 2 for the high elves and they need spp's as they only had 2 skills and a +ST from game 1.
The Norse Rolling Maul - Lineman with Sure Hands holds Ball and moves 2-3 squares per turn surrounded by other linemen and the Thrower, the Front end of the Cage was policed by the Snow Troll, The Ulf and a Berserker with Guard, the back side by the Runners. It was beautiful

one square from the side lines from turns 1-5 of the second half, the Frenzy on the Front 3 just worked beautifully with the better than average strength. The Sure Hands lineman was so safe.
The Snow troll's casualty was the first thing he had done to gain an Spp, he gained the MVP, rolled normal and took Mighty Blow to compliment Claw. Given that he rolled four 7's on AV against the Elves he would have been more effective.
The Ulf is on target for the next MVP where he will take Block (dodge or Side Step on Doubles)
My Runner with Dodge scored 2 and reached his second skill, rolled Normal and took Sure Hands, so I have safety in my ball handling now on more than one player.
Still yet to concede a TD.
only 30k winnings though so saving for my 3rd reroll is only at 60k

Linemen don't skill up that quickly, so you generally take kick when you can as it could be several more games before the next lineman skills up.voyagers_uk wrote: I have never trusted Pro, too much like loner for me and I hate loner. As far as pro, I've used it to reroll interception rolls on the line. I've used it to reroll pick-ups on bouncing balls in a crowd. But my favorite use is to use it to reroll one die blocks. I now only have a 10% chance of knocking myself down on 1 die blocks. It's great protection!
But the thing is, it doesn't replace my RRs. Rolling for bouncing balls, interceptions, and picking up bouncing balls, and rerolling pushes are generally worth a RR, so Pro gives me an opportunity to RR all those things saving my RR for something else.
