In the end he decided to go

3 Vamps
9 Thralls
4 rerolls
FF 3

and use the inducement cash on another reroll

he failed only about 4 bloodlust rolls throughout the match and it was only the Thralls total nothingness that failed to give him the win. Well that and the one time he needed the next Vamp to be good, he wasn't

2-0 loss. Last TD scored in dying seconds makes the scoreline unflattering as it was very close.

Vamp with +AG

Post by bouncergriim »

Okay I just started a new Vamp team "Las Chupacabras". So far 0-2, lost to a norse and a dwarf team. Here is my roster:
3 vamps
8 Thralls (one missing next game -1mv) so 1 J-thrall for next game
5 RRs
1 Apoth

Okay I just rolled a stat increase for my first skill on the vamp +1 AG, I took it, now down the line how should I develop him? I was thinking (despite advice to the contrary) to make him a power thrower, if I give him strong arm I can use him as a thrower how can toss a LB with a 3+. This would allow me to keep him in the back field with the ball (surrounded by a few thralls in a pocket and force the opponent to cover my recievers or try to go after the ball). On doubles I would love safe throw to defeat the one elf team in our league

What do you think of this strategy and what other advice/routes would you take an AG5 Vamp?

Oh and if it helps the league makeup is...
2 Khemri
2 Skaven
1 Dwarf
1 C. Dwarf
1 Gobbo
1 Norse
2 Orc
1 Necro
1 High Elf

To be honest, I don't think you really need safe throw. I just don't think the number of times you'd use it makes it viable.

I'm quite a big fan of nerves of steel. it would allow him to make that pass, even if surrounded. strip ball could also be handy, letting him blitz in, grab the ball and run off.

Remember that AG 5 also makes him a more powerful Hypnotic Gazer. So skills like Dodge may actually be great to have as with AG 5 you can effectively run up and remove a player's TZ and then allow another player to run in for the smashing blitz. So my thought with an AG 5 Vampire might be more aimed at using him to get those free blitzes that Vampire teams get with the TZ removals.

That is what I use my agility 5 Vampires for.

Hypnogazing !

I had 3, but am down to 2 now.

Both are agility 5 +Pro +Block and that skill set is solid. These guys can get almost anywhere and gaze or bliitz, and if they gaze my thralls can get or blitz almost anywhere.

But I am considering agility 5, Pro and LEAP for those hard to get to gazes or blitzes . (That would be if I got a new one now to be the 3rd again.)

Aye, if I was fielding an AG5 vampire I'd be AG5, Dodge, Block, Guard, Side Step. This builds and supports his role as a mobile assist. He can move into places, Hypno Gaze and Guard. Just him doing that can often be enough put standard caging tactics in trouble, but that's what Vampires do best, cut up cages.
