If I were you, I'd go out and buy a Feminine hygiene kit and then personally present it to him during the next league night.

"Hey Coach So and So, after last game I went out and picked you up a feminine hygiene kit, cause you Sir, are a giant Douche."

Pick up with the Sure hands in the 1st turn –next turn, hand off to Ag4 guy (who’s next to a troll) throw down pitch. Land on a 3+ and run in for the score!

Oh it all seems so simple!

Also like the idea of getting him dauntless – dodge thought the line on a 2+, dauntless up for the 1 dice block on a BC. Could work!? (Ah could work – the stunty mantra!)

I wouldn't attempt to throw the +AG Gobbo. Too precious, I think. Too many chances of getting eaten, or falling to his death. I would use him has my ball carrier for running plays. This guy can also pass reasonably well. So if in trouble, pass to another Gobbo. Now pray for doubles on this guy to give him block, so that he survives longer.

I'd use the AG4 Gobbo for the pick-ups normally. But use the Sure Hands Gobbo for pick-ups if playing against strip ballers.

Can't believe that the skaven coach left. With 5 positionals left, he should have been able to do some sort of defence, and even score on the next drive. You don't need too many players on the pitch to be able to score with Gutter Runners.

TUIG fans, I’m afraid I have bad news to report! The green goblins took on the Norse again last night but alas slipped to a close defeat.
A combination of improved Norse tactics and concentration, plus, I’m afraid to say, poor goblin coaching, lead to a final score of 3 – 2 Chippenfjords.

I started with the Goblin, Caging the ball and the Looney, tactic, which was working well, until a failed troll move meant the box started to crumple, I held on though and managed to get someone across for the TD. I played a poor defence though and the Norse got one back before half time. My OTS chance gone because of a double skull.
Second half was interesting, I got two blitzes at kick off and had a great chance on the first, but I tried to dodge somewhere else first and failed so a TD chance was gone! Silly me.

Still we fought bravely finishing with 6 men we still had a chance to score at the end, playing up from deep in our half I threw a gobo for all he was worth! The Troll didn’t eat him and he sailed through the air, over the Norse defence! All he needs to do is land and we have snatched a draw! But alas, a 3 on a 4+ and the glory was over.

Remember the guy who died last time? Well his replacement died as well! My Fanatic got the MOM award again! That’s 4 out of 6 that have gone to the SW’s!
And 1 goblin got his first skill, I took Jump Up as he’s going to be a running into the opponents end kinda guy.

I may have a chance against Vampires tonight but it’s not certain.

A new tactic I used this time was putting my Looney on for the second time on defence, certainly gave the Norse something to think about but he failed to get through armour twice in three turns and they scored after that.

Until next time TUIG fans…

The best skills for a Looney are - Block, Dodge, Side Step & Dirty Player
I was wondering about Wrestle?

Since you only use Block Defensivly, Wrestle would get both Players placed Prone. Which does not count as Knocked over so neither would get an AV roll with +3. Combine it with Jump Up to Block during the Goblins next turn.

just dodge away and hide ^^ it´s easy to protect the chainsaw ^^
Erm, afraid you can't do that if you've blitzed or fouled with the saw-both actions require you to stay next to the player you've just blitzed/fouled.

Part of the chainsaw skill description and the fouling rules.

sorry to bring a old topic on again

I'm starting to play a goblin team (resurrection tournaments only) and I was wondering how you cage the ball carrier and the loony exactly?

X G X X G X
X X L B X X
X G X X G X

or

X G X G X
X X L X X
X X B X X
X G X G X

B being ball carrier, or do you cage them with trolls (I think my trolls will be in the neighbourhood of my fanatic giving assist, so they couldn't get a half die block against him)

It doesn't matter! The side on is better if you expect a blitz from that direction, but so long as neither can easily be hit it doesn't really matter.

Trolls are preferred corner men - but I'd try to ensure they'd already moved that turn before committing to them.

Wow this is a blast from the past. Looking forward to picking Goblins up again with the new computer game.

Basically I got as many bodies in the way as possible, or alternatively i kept the Ball carrier as far back as possible.

I also had my Ball and Chain guy on the pitch as the same time, so that gave them another target other than the looney.

Just starting goblins on MBBL, and this was the most useful thread I found. 50k bribes made them very tempting, and I'm practising for Waterbowl in February.

Any more useful advice than that found in these pages?

I'm a big fan of Diving Tackle on my gobbos. Side-Step is solid too and some Diving Catch here and there doesn't hurt (especially under the experimental rules). A gobbo with Guard can let you set up some workable blocks once in a while, especially useful for clearing out the cage should the opposing coach choose to swarm it.

Also, the Looney doesn't get any SPP when causing a casualty due to being the recipient of a failed block, but he no longer has No Hands.

Oh, and have fun.

Cheers. And I meant more advice, rather than more useful - didn't mean to disparage anyone in the thread!

Flippen’ eck – now this is a double blast from the past! I’m still playing gobbo’s - a new team online stands at a 3 – 2 – 2 record. I even had to play one of them games with No Trolls! After 1 died (1st turn!) and the other got MNG.

But without going into it all again….

I still believe 16 Players are needed on a gobbo team – I hate the bombardier (so it’s no great lose from the Online BB imo) so he’s out.

Skills wise - You can’t go wrong with the stand ‘two tone’ Goblin team.

Half = SS – DT – Jump Up – other have – Catch – Sure Feet – Sprint – JU.
I like to foul so one gets SG (Being able to throw a foul without having to surround the guy is something that’s often overlooked imo)
Trolls – Guard / BT (unrealiable but sometimes your best option)
Other than that – its preying of +AG time really!

Good luck! The little green fellows are a lot of fun!

Tactics wise – its swamp em! Dodge and hope! Double line to stop them breaking a hole. Manage the clock – manage the blocks against you. You might be ST2 - but you can still get in the way! Try and get the Looney on early. If I’m facing a slow team – I’ll put him on even if I’m kicking as I’ll know he’ll get 4 – 5 good EARLY turns – rather than 6 – 8 in the second half. Better to get the opps players off asap. Foul anyone AV7 if they are on the ground. Anyone with Tackle is your worst enenmy – kill them – kill them now.

You excel at loose cage running – but you also want your trolls to move as well. If you’re just moving the trolls – move them First – as if they go RS – you’ll be prepared for it! Rather than trying to fill that final important corner right at the end – he will go stupid leaving your BC exposed.

Right – well that’s about all I know on Gobbo’s. Great time to play – and sometimes – just sometimes – can get everything – so so right!

what is your usual strategy

when do you use your secret weapons ?
do you use them together ?
how do you use them ?

do you really need teh 5 rerolls or do you have some spare rerolls most of the time
where do you have to use your rerolls for most of the time ?

when you cage the ball do you use only goblins or as much trolls as possible

and have you considert using the bombardier ?
