Mummy Second Skill - Grab vs Break Tackle
Hi Guys,
Debating the merits of Grab vs Break Tackle as a second skill on a Mummy, on a moderately developed undead team.
Lineup is as follows.
Mummy - Guard, (normal skill)
Mummy - Guard
Wight - Mighty Blow
Wight - Mighty Blow
Ghoul - Sure Hands, +AG
Ghoul - Block, Sidestep
Ghoul - Block, Sidestep
Ghoul - Block, +AG
Skeleton - n/a
Zombie - Block
Zombie - Block
Zombie - n/a
Zombie - n/a
Zombie - n/a
The two teams I will be playing against most are nurgle and chaos dwarves. Maybe necro. Eventually, Lizards and Woodies might become opponents.
Im tempted to choose grab, because its great for advancing cages and controlling a melee. But then I dont have a lot of success caging against CD or Nurgle, and often end up just relying on my star ghouls. Since I'm relying heavily on my ghouls, break tackle might be the better option so that I can get over there and break them (or the ball) loose from any people guarding.
I'd really like to take both, I just dont know which to get first.
Suggestions please?

Stand Firm is always first on my list as being pushed away by the guy you're waiting to block is a real pain for mummies.
This is most likely relevent against the CDs as 2 dice against with Block is decent odds, especially when you're counting a push back as a win.
My advice is to change that equation.

Sorry - I didn't read closely enough to see it was an undead team and not Khemri.
But I would go with the Stand Firm as it is a great skill for mummy in any respect.
As a regular opponent to mummies, I am really interested in one thing - keeping them OUT of my tackle zones! Sometimes I will even risk the 1D block and accept the push - just to avoid the obvious block.
But having said that I will admit that I do not have a lot of experience with the Grab skill....

Stand Firm, Grab and Break Tackle are all great skills. Choose what best fits what you want to do. Do you want to hold your ground against anything, mess with the other players or be able to move? Base your decision on that, or better, decide which order you want to get them in.

It's a Dark Elf world, we just let you live in it to provide fresh victims. - and I still want an Executioner to kill sauruses with.

On my undead team I had both a break tackle and a stand firm mummy. For me the break tackle was waaaay more useful. Once you use it early in a game, your opponent starts to realise that feeding your mummy a lineman just isn't good enough to stop you hurting them. All of a sudden they need to keep an additional man in between you and the cage to stop you smashing through.
That said, I tend to GFI a lot with my mummies, as people tend to think that 4 squares away is plenty of room. As far as I am concerned with armour 9 I am happy to fall over from time to time! It's worth it to get my guard mummy in base contact with the ball carrier.
