Nurgle team
Hi,
I'm going to play a nurgle team in a league with 8 team including:
couple of orc teams, an underworld team, amazons, norse and perhaps chaos pact and undead
I'm planning to use the following set up:
2 Nurgle Warriors
2 Pestigors
6 Rotters
1 Beast Of Nurgle
3 RR
3 FF
first I was planning to go a lot of claw, due to the orc teams, and me not yet knowing what the other teams would be. I'm still doubting on my setup, especially since there aren't any agility teams, I'm doubting if I should take a BoN
Should I change anything?

You need to start with the Beast. He is great value. I tried to start last year in a league without him - it really sucked.
I find that Nurgle are rather puny at the start, and that with no block and lots of AV8 they take a lot of casualties. Hence you may prefer to take 3 or even 4 Warriors to start with (this means 2 Re-rolls, sadly).
At least if you max out on the Beast and Warriors, you have some raw strength on your side when facing a bash team.
It's an expensive side - that means no easy choices in the starting roster.
You are right that Claw is useful.
Hope this helps.

For an expensive side, you will probably be better off saving any left-over cash for your next purchase rather than investing in FF. 10k invested in FF has some small chance of paying for itself, but 30k will almost certainly be ineffective.
I suppose doubleskulls has figured out the probabilites of various amounts of FF (and AC and CL?) paying for themselves. He's excellent at that.

Never buy Fan Factor, in my opinion. If you win, you gain it for free. If you lose, you've lost nothing (since you can't get negative Fan Factor).
Skills I'd go for:
Nurgle Warriors - Block, Guard, Stand Firm, Mighty Blow (ignore doubles)
2 Pestigors - Extra Arms, Block, Two Heads, Dodge
2 Pestigors - Block, Mighty Blow, Claw, Sidestep
Rotters - Wrestle, Tackle, Diving Tackle
Beast of Nurgle - Stand Firm, Guard, Claw
Boring? Perhaps. But Nurgle is about locking down an enemy team and then beating it to a pulp. Rather then the usual Chaos tactics of simply beating the enemy team to pulp and then kicking it when its down.

Seems a bit over the top. Two Block/Guard/Stand Firm guys for the front of the cage is good, but the other two guys can have some variety. How about Block/Frenzy/Stand Firm/(Juggernaut or Tackle) to take advantage of ST4? Block/Mighty Blow/Claw/Piling On for the fear factor? Or (this one is definitely on the fun side of things) Block/Pass Block/Prehensile Tail for deterring a passing game?Andromidius wrote:Nurgle Warriors - Block, Guard, Stand Firm, Mighty Blow (ignore doubles)

Perhaps you should search the forum for other Nurgle related topics.
No agility teams in your league will take away a big plus from your beast, but I guess it up to you to decide if its worthy or not.
With all those bashy teams you might have a hard time in the first games, but as soon as you get Block to your warriors, things will get better.
As you'll read in other places, the pestigors will be your star players, and most of your game will be made by them, so dont over expose them to fights, or they will get hurt and your team will be in trouble.
Rotters will get hurt (possibly a lot) and die too, but thats what they're there for. Dont forget they are disposable.
However because they have very decent stats, sometimes they may end up doing the Pestigors job, and may even score.
I have won very difficult games with TD's made by them just because my adversaries have overlooked them.
Like with the Nurgle Beast, Disturbing Presence is a very interesting skill but since you're playing against bashy teams, I doubt theres going to be much passing, still keep it in mind during the game!
Cheers,
Axt.

I guess the BoN should do fairly well against the Underworld team and the Goblins of the Ork team (provided he has any).
Don't reduce the BoN to its tentacles! It is still a S5 player with Mighty Blow.
As said many times before The Pestigors are your Star Players (I got a AG4 one, yay!). So try to develop two of them as ball carriers and two of them as "Safeties".
I prefer Block on the Warriors before anything else (just to stabilize the line and the cage. MB is the second skill.
I am also using a Rotter with Kick (his only skill actually). That skill can really help a Nurgle team.
EDIT: as a starting line up I would suggest 3 warriors, BoN, 2 Pestigors and 5 Rotters

I did search the forum for Nurgle topic and I read a lot of them
but now I decided that I'm going to play necro's because I'll be playing them a lot this year in tournaments
Thanks for all the help for the nurgle team though! I'll use them in the next league.

Is this a bad thing?tenwit wrote:Seems a bit over the top.Andromidius wrote:Nurgle Warriors - Block, Guard, Stand Firm, Mighty Blow (ignore doubles)
A less brutally minded person might prefer a bit of variety, but I like things simple and to the point. And frontloading with Warriors with this build would be utterly crushing to most opponants. No subtly, just break your opponant's back from turn one.
But then, I never did win many games.

Not a bad thing (except for your opponent). But I think it's a waste of ST4 not to have at least one Frenzy player.. just replace MB with Frenzy on one of them, maybe reorder the skills, and you've got a very useful player. Can crowdpush (with Stand Firm!) and better, can push into a cage and stay there (with Guard!).
