I'm off to a tourney this weekend, and I'm looking at a Norse team.

(I like Norse + is only team I have that is close to fully painted

)

Tourney rules are a TR 1,250, which can include inducements & Star Players if you're inclined, plus you can add a single normal skill to each regular roster player, for the 20k cost.

It's a resurrection tourney, and there is something like 70 coaches so a good spread of races for opponents.

The roster I was thinking of is this
1 x Snow Troll (+ Mighty Blow)
2 x Ulfwerener (+ Block)
2 x Berserkers (+ Tackle)
2 x Runners (+ Dodge) (maybe Sure Hands? not sure here)
5 x Liney's (1 with Kick)

2 x Rerolls
0 FF

I've played a lot of Norse in a league, but not in tourney's.

I'm somewhat concerned about only 1 reserve, and only 2 reroll's, but I'm not sure where else I'm prepared to make cuts.

As to the skills:
MB is no brainer on the Troll.
I want to go with Tackle on the Berserkes to help handle the Elves, but I've also been tossing up MB or Piling On to help in the hurty stakes, or Guard to help against the strength teams.
Dodge on the Runners, Blodgers are always a pain.
Kick is just because there is 20k left in the kitty, and I figure 2 FF is going to help much. The other option would be DP on one liney perhaps?

drop one tackle and take guard

could be tempted to put guard on both of them and tackle on the kicker instead

do you really need two runners as well?

you can drop one for a lineman and then have 60k left over

which you can use for another reroll or another lineman, i'd probably take the reroll

Stand Firm, used properly, is a poor-man's Tackle and a poor-man's Guard. It also combos with everything the Berserker starts with and allows you to counter a lot of the 1TTD attempts that this format encourages.

Can save 120k by dropping both runners / dodges for no skill-linoes.

2 rr's only, so sure hands is a nobrainer on a lino (20k extra).

Swap both tackles to guard on the zerks. MB without claw or piling on to boost it up is not worth it, your mb troll will have to be your killer.

Get a tackling lino or 2 (20k extra).

Leaves you with 80k to play with. That's a lino or a reroll or an apoth + a skill. I'm not so sure about kick on norse either, not that fast a team. It could prove worthwhile though.
