2nd skill for HE Blitzer
Last night, one of my HE Blitzers got a few SPPs and is ready for his 2nd Skill now. I rolled a double, so a have quiet a lot of opportunities. And this is why I´m asking here for advice. His 1st skill is "Leap" and I planned to give him another skill that helps him stealing the ball (like Strip Ball, Wrestle or Tackle). But now, I don´t know if I should take a Strength Skill and give him Guard, Stand Firm or Mighty Blow.
Our league consists of 10 coaches, 3 Elves, 1 Skaven, 1 Undead, 1 Khemri, 1 Necro, 1 Human, 1 Dwarf, 1 Halfling. I played 6 games now and will play another 17 games. So far, my team has 13 players, all 8 position players. My catchers got a mixture of Block and Dodge, one thrower has Leader, a few lineelfs Wrestle, the other blitzer Frenzy.
What do you think?

Yeah, there's a fair amount of bash, but Guard won't save you against all the ST5 you're going to face, and there's not a lot of ST4 out there (and that which there is mostly has Stand Firm, so you don't want to stick a 150k AV8 guy next to it if you don't knock down).
Guard is best against the Dwarfs, MB is best against the Undead, Skaven, Halflings, Necro and Khemri: both are good against Humans and Elves, but since I wouldn't put this guy on the line against even an elf team, I'd probably prefer MB against Elves. So unless your direct rival* is the Dwarfs, I'd go for MB in context. Leaping Guard is cool and all when it opens 3 new blocks, but it sucks to make a leap just to turn 1d into 2d: it's better to make the hit with this guy. This is especially true in a league like this one, where so many teams are dependent on AV7 ball-carriers. Get him Tackle or Pro at 31.
* the coach against whom you have the most at stake, not necessarily the best coach: if you can't beat his with yours, don't bother, but if you just need that "edge" more than you need it against the other teams....

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Actually, if I get so lucky as to get doubles on 3 High Elf linos (or a second double on one) in my league, I'm getting Grab! Who needs to develop a Catcher for 1TTD when you have a Grabber and a Frenzy guy and can do it with a rookie Catcher? You can even save the blitz for hole-punching! Heck, with a Grabber, you can just engineer extra blocks against those silly Elves and Rats and play a cage offense like an AG4 Orc team! Particularly the Rats, because they don't get Side Step. After all, everybody's AV12 when you're stunned.

I know! My inner voice keeps telling me: " Take Dauntless, take Dauntless, take Dauntless ..." and it´s kinda hard to ignore that.voyagers_uk wrote:Although it is surreal that I am telling Prince Moranian how to skill up a High Elf Blitzer.....

Thanks a lot for your suggestions! Probably MB s the best choice and I´ll give that a try. Next skill would be Tackle or Strip Ball to maximize his ball stealing abilities.
