Turnmarker - Ups I forgot ...
Currently there is no "punishment" for not moving your turnmarker if your in turn 8.
Your opponent can't use the re-roll he would otherwise get because he had his last turn.
Same goes for last turn in 2nd half.
Therefore we added a houserule in our league.
If you forget to move your turnmarker in the last turn of the 1st half, and you are called for an illigal procedure, your opponent will "transfer" his re-roll to the 2nd half.
If you forget to move your turnmarkr in the last turn if the 2nd half, and you are called for an illigal procedure, you suffer -10k on your winnings roll.

According to the rules you either end your turn immediately or lose a reroll for the turn (or the opponent gets a reroll but that's not relevant in turns 8 or 16). Isn't the threat of losing a reroll for the turn if the team has any enough? I often have a reroll left in turn 8 and many times I'd hate to lose it, especially if stalling.
If the rules aren't hardcore enough, maybe you could up the punishment, say to losing a player of the opponent's choice?

Come'on what's the reason for that? Going against new players in your league that are not used to illegal procedure rule? or maybe not even allowing people to talk or getting distracted? that's a game.... and blood bowl is for having fun with OTHER PEOPLE. I think illegal procedure rule is completely stupid but what you are saying is even worse. Why don't you just add a houserule for losing the game instead of losing a RR?

There are many ways to write a reply, and some here are just tsk tsk tsk...
We may have mis-interpreted the rules, but if you have no re-rolls left, and you do not move your turnmarker, it's not a turnover, your opponent just gets a re-roll, which he cannot use since he already had his last turn.
Is this not correct?
(And yes, we also play with a "first illigal is free")

thought the IP rule was changed that all that happens is the opposing coach gains a reroll now, you no longer lose them or suffer a turnover yourself
either way it isn't a rule that is commonly used

More sensible rule is to just ignore IP completely. Just remind your opponent he's forgotten to move it.

Re: Turnmarker - Ups I forgot ...
Hmm....
Thing is that quite a few of our members play with the rules since they are old-timers.
I can honestly say that we do not use the IP rule with new players, but ....
As the rules are now, if you have an IP called against you, you loose 1 RR, and if you have none, your opponent gains 1 RR.
So ... If you have played for several years and used the IP rule, it just has no concequence if it happens in the last turn, AND your opponennt has no RR.
Thats why we added the houserule "you get the RR and you can use it in 2nd half"
But generally i agree that the IP rule should be set aside when playing with new players.

Good one.
Out of curiosity i'd like to know how many actully use the IP rule.
Anyone fancy running a poll?

Unless things have changed a lot since I played in Europe then IP is unheard of at tournaments there, and also in Australia. Leagues vary more with some liking the "fun" of IP. I think the rule sucks and would drop it altogether.

Plenty of polls on this subject - use the search function.Arkius wrote:Out of curiosity i'd like to know how many actully use the IP rule.

Re: Turnmarker - Ups I forgot ...
To be honest...the turn "Movement" results from people being sooooo...engrossed in the game that both sides forget to mark whos go it is...
Therefore the "IP" rule...
Basically...If one of you forget to move a counter to track a turn and neither of you can remember who kicked off for the start of the half....
PUT DOWN THE DICE AND SEEK URGENT MEDICAL HELP...YES BOTH OF YOU!!
