Grab, grab, grab!
While less important for Halfling Trees because of no loner, grab is great because you should be blitzing most turns with Deeproot which lets Trees just knock guys around them if they Take Root.
I don't like the idea of Guard on Trees, I'd cut a tree that got to three skills and hadn't gotten a doubles/+1 MV so a third regular choice never comes into play.
Grab and Break Tackle are both good skills for Trees

Grab was a good pick. It lets the trees herd opponents really well. I'll probably give the other tree Grab as well when it skills up unless doubles come up in which case it's Block followed by Multiblock. I'm also very intrigued to try Grab on some other team as I've obviously lacked the imagination to really think of the possibilities afforded by the skill.
My flings have now won their three first games. I've only allowed one TD against scoring 9 myself but I feel a really big black could gathering over the team. Last game I took in 8 casualties from a pact team. There was only one career ending injury but I now see that it's only a matter of time before I witness total carnage inflicted on the little fellas. Hoarding cash is obviously smart.

Have you been running, TTMing, or a bit of both? Some days TTM works very well (I've scored 4 in a single half against Skaven before), other days you just can't seem to land anyone and are shut out.Ullis wrote:My flings have now won their three first games. Again, depending on the dice, I've had everyone bar one Treeman and two Flings in the D&I box by the end of the game, and for the opposite I've cleared the pitch without suffering a single casualty. When you win, it's a huge fun bonus, but it's not that hard for any opponent to knock you down and roll a seven, followed by a nineUllis wrote:I now see that it's only a matter of time before I witness total carnage inflicted on the little fellas. Re: Hafling 600k roster development
My TTM attempts have been very limited. But that's mostly due to the fact that I've had luck in positioning the action around the trees. The trees have been tied up in TZ's, making passing and leaving halflings hanging around them, ready to be thrown, a bad idea. But just the threat of a TTM play has worked great, forcing the opponent to leave one or two safeties, depending on their speed. I've also wondered on the determination of some coaches to try and knock down the trees and even foul them if they succeed! Maybe there's some secret trophy they'll get for it. But it's such a huge commitment and opens up so much space for the flings.Ulthuan_Express wrote:Have you been running, TTMing, or a bit of both? So, running plays have been the order of the day. I have a move 6 halfling after game 1 which is great as he can really cover some distance when needed. My own offences have been confused affairs with a sudden, or as sudden as flings can manage, dash and a cage within scoring distance or as close to it with the rest of the players screening approaching lanes to the cage. This often happens after the opponent suffers a turnover (go chef!) or overcommits, which seems to happen a lot against flings.
