Re: Periodic Skaven Thread (WIP Team Photographer)
Just a quick update to prove I am still doing stuff on the team - this is the current WIP queue for the team. On show:
- Coach needing varnishing (behind the tentacle linerat)
- Gutter Runner needing his paint job finished (I'm undecided whether the harsh black shadow around the mask would be better as grey?)
- Two headed Gutter Runner & Linerat needing painting
- Fat rat II needing basecoated only
- Photographer (hiding behind the 2-headed runner) needs undercoating

I should have the handing off runner finished early next week I hope

Runner mask is fine as it is, I like the blacklining!

Re: Periodic Skaven Thread (WIP Queue)
Looking great axiom. The shading on the GR trousers looks lovely
Yeah the total black on the mask seeems a ill strong, maybe keep it but add some grey highlights. And a off white grey slight shadow in the bottom right corner of the mask - nothing major just a slither of light grey.
Even if you leave him as he is. hes looking good mate

Re: Periodic Skaven Thread (WIP Queue)
Phew, a break for quite some time on these eh? I now have a confirmed target as my ticket to NAFC 2013 is purchased. My planned roster is:
2 Blitzers
4 Gutter Runners
1 Thrower
6 Linemen
3 Re-rolls
I'll be painting an additional re-roll for a Leader upgrade, a score counter and 3 coaching staff for a display base. The outstanding items from that list are:
2 Gutter Runners
3 Linemen
Head Coach
Assistant Coach
4 re-rolls
Score counter
Display base
I had a free evening yesterday and attacked the list with avengence. The re-rolls & score counter now just need varnishing and basing and I finished off the handing-off Gutter Runner. I took the advice above and changed the black-lining around the mask to a light grey, which is still plenty dark enough.

(I also part-painted my contribution to the 2013 TFF Legacy team - check out the progress thread for him!)

Re: Periodic Skaven Thread (finished Gutter Runner & NAFC pl
I was away with work the earlier in the week and had a couple of nights in a hotel by myself. Luckily, with a team to paint, it's never time wasted!
I managed to slap some paint on these two (as well as basecoat another couple):

The 3-legged guy actually turned out to be a nightmare to paint - that 3rd leg got in the way everywhere. He's also impossible to photograph!
The fat guy is one of those figures I wasn't sure about, even after I finished the conversion. Using parts (some painted) from 6 different figures and scrappy greenstuff didn't help, but now he's finished I really like him a lot.
I've also hit another milestone - once these guys are based I'll have 11 players finished to take the field!

I really like the fat guy, he's like a bilerot for the skaven.

The most recent fat rat was made as a companion figure to the first - in my head they're brothers

Glad you like him

gratz on getting 11 players done.. that's always a huge hurdle for me..
and a huge deterrent to painting the ones I have left.. once I can field a team I usually move on..

Re: Periodic Skaven Thread (2 more linerats painted)
And me! I've still got a flesh golem unpainted from my Necromantic team from last year. On the up side, my roster for NAFC requires 13 players, my display base requires 3 coaching staff and I need some re-rolls too. Once I've done them, it shouldn't be too much of a stretch to paint the remaining 3 players (I hope!).Norse wrote:gratz on getting 11 players done.. that's always a huge hurdle for me..
