Re: Dungeon Bowl project for ADBC
Last year's grand final dungeon was so big that I had multiple turns where I forgot to move players because I literally lost them on the massive field!
This year's dungeon looks like anc001 has turned it all the way up to 11! Can't wait. Hopefully I play well enough to make the final for a 3rd consecutive year and get to play on the huge final dungeon.

@Olaf Create a chart with your players across the top and turns down the side. Check each off as you move them or decide not to. When everyone has a check you are done.

It's not normally that hard in the 'regular' DungeonBowl pitches that anc001 creates, just the massive grand final dungeon at the end!Lychanthrope wrote:@Olaf Create a chart with your players across the top and turns down the side. For the first 5 games we play in smaller dungeons that are mainly one level, so it's easy to see your players (especially since you normally only have 6 or so players). The top 2 players after that get to play in the grand final on the super-sized pitch you see in the pictures. That's the only time I 'lost' my players, normally because they were hidden underneath the walkways and whatnot. It didn't help that I'd found the ball in a chest on the other side of the pitch, so my attention wasn't really on that side of the field.

wow! I might actually play Dungeon Bowl again with a dungeon like this! really impressive!
My experience with Dungeon Bowl so far is rather bad (games was way to long and unbalanced). Any chance you have a link for the rules you guys use?

Re: Dungeon Bowl project for ADBC
My pleasure.
See the attachment.
When we first started playing we decided that the biggest change needed was the dungeon layout themselves. Playing on just one set of the original tiles meant that most passages were dead ends, and games got bogged down and slow.
We opened things up more with wider passages and more connectivity.
These are the standard sizes Olaf described above
When they get to about this size they definitely start to favour the quick teams
We also did some printed mats, which look great but aren't modular/changable

this is a PDF with the blueprints for the regular dungeons used during the normal rounds of the tournament.

Hopefully this helps anyone who is considering doing their own field.
Get some practice and join us next March!

Missed this thread first time round, so "Holy Sneck!" Makes our DB games using WHQuest sections look amatuer now.
How do you prevent the regular DB pitches from moving around (assuming they're not fixed)?

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

The dungeon floor pieces are made with hydrostone dental plaster. This material is quite heavy. I put a felt bottom on each piece and it is enough to stop them moving at a light touch, especially if they are all butted up to each other snugly.
Individual items like doorways do get knocked over, but the layout is set by a diagram, so you always know where to put things back.
The plaster is very hard, we've had hundreds of games on these boards and only about 3 individual components break out of everything you see in the photos.
