The mini looks brilliant! The display looks awesome too. Love the deep green. Might have to steal the team scheme for me 2nd ed elves... :D

Good luck with the challenge, you'll do it!

@axiom I'm looking forward to seeing your stuff too. Nuffle prescribes beer at the NAF!

@velevet mark I'm hoping so, it's part of the reason why I'm starting early. I really want to get some counters done, but for what I'm planning, it might require some sculpting, so we'll have to see.

Note to self: varnish models more quickly. He's already chipped.

Here's this week's model.

Image

The painting was pretty straightforward; I didn't have to plan out complimenting colour combinations for skin and armour. Mainly, I wanted to try and keep attention on the head, fist and belt. The fist marks a bit of a departure for this team, as I used bright metallics prominently with gloss varnish. For the helmet, I simply went for a very clean white, and the chaos star on the belt got a brighter highlight than the rest of the pink.

As always, more photos on my blog.

I dont like them at all.....In fact they should be placed in a model cabinet so the rest of the BB community doesnt have to suffer them......Hang on, i MAY have such a space available in my cabinet  what a coincidence 8)

As always your attention to detail and choice of colours is spot in, loving the models as well.

cannot wait to beat them down at the GT!! (only in round 1 after that we will be, as always poles apart!)

We'll see. I'm going all out for most casualties; at least, that's the plan.

Looking fantastic - I just love all 3 of those models and to see them in such a nice scheme is great. Can I ask 2 questions:

1) What colour did you highlight the black with that wasn't grey?
2) What is the colour scheme for that lovely petrol blue?

@glowworm I look forward to eating them whole. My own goblin will wave from behind his three big friends.

@axiom the minotaur was black, then charadon granite, blended to khemri brown with some elf flesh thrown into the mix. the troll (i presume that's the blue you mean) was a base of shadow grey and a ridiculous number of highlights. A little bit of wet blending too. Mainly space wolves grey and skull white, though I think Astronomican Grey made an appearance too. He was finished over with some blue wash to lowlight the recesses (just the shadowed areas, not an all-over wash).

No extra pictures on the blog this week.

I'm ill, I'm in a rush and I failed to do anything last week.

Go me!

I love this model, though I'm not completely sure that my paint job does it justice. That said, I am rather pleased with the painted on cracks in the armour, as well as the eyes. Self critiquing, I feel that the face is rather week, lacking enough contrast.

because white is a component of the armour colour scheme, I think the white fur gets lost a little.. he might have looked better with a brown fur.. just clutching at straws.. the execution looks great, but I agree there is "somethng" missing..

Nose holes. It seems to only have one, and more like a dark spot than hole.
