Juniors Tournament in UK
Would there be any interest at all in a juniors type tournament? 3 games played in a fairly relaxed manner during the day, probably in Swindon, no lower age limit (good enough, old enough)? Could be run alongside a few seniors games. Could make it more formal and have parent-child teams? Thoughts?

That could work, though if I was going to hamper the grown-ups I would make it something like 0-16 type only from any team, maybe no rerolls, something like that.

Ooh, or 7s? Just about to make a 7s board for play with my lot, will see how they take to that.

I had a under 14s award a couple of years ago at the Rocket Bowl...we had 5 younglings playing in the full tournament. It gave them an interest to do their best..even if a few did get mauled during game....highest finishing won the "Space Pup" award.

So we all crowd around 1 sevens board? Sounds promising......sann0638 wrote:Ooh, or 7s? Just about to make a 7s board for play with my lot, will see how they take to that.

Was rocketbowl in a pub? Did you have 5 under 14s then? What was the youngest? Any crossness from adults not having a "proper" game? That would be my worry.Pug wrote:I had a under 14s award a couple of years ago at the Rocket Bowl...we had 5 younglings playing in the full tournament. Re: Juniors Tournament in UK
I think the full game is perhaps better than 7s - as someone who learns to play Blood Bowl learns to play Blood Bowl. They would then have to go and learn the 7s rules on top of that... so it would be more complex and harder. It might make them feel a little patronised - "you're a kid, so you don't play the full game, only 7s"
