Regash: The Privateer Press demon is really cool, yes. It's a pity that the mini is so big. From your thread I found this troll:
I didn't quite catch where the mini is from.
Edit: I found it - the game is Gob'z Heroes - a kickstarter from 2016. I doubt someone will sell only the troll, though.
Frogboy: The reaper troll is looking quite detailed and with the price being so low I've ordered one even if I decide to use something different instead.

Re: Will Hordes' Storm Troll make a good BB Troll?
I really like the reaper troll. I have three for orc and goblin teams. But, I was using it compared to 3rd ed orcs and kaosball goblins. I think compared to new orcs it might be too skinny.
I also enjoy privateer press sculpts, but they are generally pricey and often not quite sized right. That said, tangent:
I use satyxis raiders and bane knights for a chaos team
mechanithralls, drudge grunts, and machine wraiths for undead

I used some Legion of Everblight from the Hordes range to make my Vampire team.
They are Blood Runners for Vampires and Praetorians for thralls.
(Click links for pictures!)
Although they look pretty cool, I'm still keeping an eye open for Vampire alternatives.

Just got the Storm Troll - may need to re-base it on a 40 mm base. The troll and the mino are on 35 mm bases and the ogre and human - on 32 mm. I'm thinking of making a chaos pact team using the box humans (with alternative heads) + these 3 big guys.

Looks just fine to me in terms of size.
Awesome, so Privateer Press kind of offers nice Troll options.
Everything on a 40 mm base should be fine, I guess, if it's not to wide.

I guess that's the up-side of the new bigger miniatures
I agree. Privateerpress makes too many nice miniatures to not at least use some for bloodbowl. Might have to look at those Satyxis ladies again to see if they wouldn't make a nice dark elf team

Also let your eye wander over to the HORDES/Legion of Everblight range, they provide some fantasic "darkelfy" miniatures.the solitaire wrote:Might have to look at those Satyxis ladies again to see if they wouldn't make a nice dark elf team
Blighted Archers or Blighted Swordsmen
And I also found interesting "Ogres" within the Legion range...

I'll let my eye wander, but not stray. I already have a medium sized Merc army, a huge Cryx army (well over 150 miniatures) and some Skorne. Since no one plays the game anymore, I do not want to be tempted to complete any of the above armies

Hm, you must be doing something wrong...the solitaire wrote:Since no one plays the game anymore
I worked for Ulisses Spiele a while ago and they distribute Warmachine and Hordes exclusively for Germany.
As far as I understood, it is one of the more successful systems they have in their portfolio.
Maybe check out Ulisses Websites for more info/player base?

Re: Will Hordes' Storm Troll make a good BB Troll?
I know Ulisses. They contacted me a few years ago about commission painting.
The thing is, "we" had quite a big player base in Krefeld from 2005 until about 2009. In 2009 I moved to a different city and a few months later none of the original players was still active.
Half a year ago I moved to the outback. We have no neighbours here in a 500 meter radius. The next city is a small very katholic city with a grocery shop and two pubs. After that, it's Kevelaer, which is well known for being less then exciting as well.
Player base is non-existent really.

Well, if you choose to live in the middle of nowhere...
But yeah, I gave away my Trollbloods a while ago and somewhere I've still got some Mercenarys, not even assembled yet.
I live in Frankfurt, a rather large city but our player scene here seems pretty dead as well, not only for Warmachine or Hordes but in general.

Re: Will Hordes' Storm Troll make a good BB Troll?
I've received the Reaper Ice Troll too, but as I don't need another troll (for now at least) I'm thinking of using it as a Khorne Bloodthirster. The miniature has horns and look kind of demonic so it may fit. I've removed the stone from his hand and thinking of replacing it with a head (Warhammer ogre head fits nicely and (with a little bit of work) one of the reserve dwarf trollslayer heads from the Dwarf Giants may do as well). What do you guys think?

My sculting and conversions skills wouldn't be good enough to remove that stone.
Otherwise, this might also make, if it is the right size, a very nice Ice Troll / Yeti for Norscas.
I personally don't see the Khorne in this guy but that may change with appropriate paint.

Those are my chaos beastwomen. Carving out the whip handles was more work than anticipated. But, I do enjoy the figures.the solitaire wrote:Might have to look at those Satyxis ladies again to see if they wouldn't make a nice dark elf team

I used a couple of plastic Trollbloods in my Dark College Dungeonbowl team, Dark Matter, size wise these guys are perfect...
