Or go for pure pace - ditch the thrower and take 4 gr's...

I am curious. I've read around most of the teams here for skaven, and most seem to support the "3 minimum GR". I however, propose this team:

7 Linerats
2 Sv
1Gr
1Thr

4 TRR
8 FF

My reasoning?
Skaven linerats are fast, faster then most races. With 4 TRR, I'm almost sure that they can act like runners (not to the extent of GR though). With a FF of 8, I'm almost sure that I can pull up a GR after second game.

Any comments?

If you're using the new WA rules, this lineup is very tempting:

1 RO
2 SV
2 GR
7 LR
1 Apoth
2 RR
1 FF

It's a little low on rerolls, but it means you'll have muscle, agility and some block up front. No sure hands, but with 4 AG that isn't too much of a loss. The Apoth keeps the GR's and RO on the field, and the extra linerat makes sure you don't run out of players.

And yes, that's what I took to Gumpta.

Forgive my ignorance, but...what is WA?

I've just started playing BB after quite some years, so...I'm not quite up to date on most things.

But anyway, I'm using these rules that some of my friends are playing with:

Ah, but this topic is about tournament skaven teams..most tourneys (that I know of) don't let you get money/spp's for games..you generally get 1 skill after each game, but your roster doesn't change.

I'd still go with 3 GR at least..the extra 2 mv and agility 4 is nice to have.

WA is wild animal..

Hmm, If I was going to include a Rat Ogre, I think I'd go:

1xRO
2xSV
3xGR
1xTR
4xLR
2xRR
6xFF

(maybe 1ff and an apoth..can't decide for a tourney if I want to risk 1ff or not)

That is a pretty good roster.

I went with depth over quality, and it paid off. The apoth is generally better than the FF becasue it lets you save one of the players on the field.

The new WA is really good because he makes the opposition give you the sideline or face a good chance of getting pushed out of bounds. Giving Skaven the sidelines is incredibly good, as is going to stretch him so thin as to free up a place to cage somewhere in his half of the pitch. On defence, the RO has Frenzy and Prehensile tail - great for crashing cages and throwing a scare into those 3 ST teams.
