I will not enforce the tree discussion any further, since most of the pro/con tree arguments have been fielded - and the community will probably never agree on one way or the other...

Sooooooo - lets concentrate on what to do then. You have to decide whether you want a tree or not. And then choose accordingly.
Option a) - the tree solution:
Get the tree right away, use one double for leader and the other will probably be guard. This way you not only get a solid base on the LOS, but you also strengthen the big guy with a reroll + you have an extra reroll if the tree won't need it.
Option b) - the no tree solution:
Use both doubles for guard - or maybe one for dauntless, if you feel like it. Buy a reroll for your money. Then save for additional players, a catcher probably. Don't think about getting a tree, until you have 14+ players on your team (if at all).
The ideas are obvious:
Either you want to rely on a tree - THEN DO IT PROPERLY!
Or you fancy true elven play - well, do it your way. It is your choice.
