What skin colour for Ghouls??

i Don't think it's a case of growing older but more a case of re-learning and finding different techniques to those you used before. I have had a few breaks from painting over the last 15 years and sometimes haven't painted for up to 3 years. Each time I have got back into painting I have felt that the techniques I find were better than before.

Exactly, formerly I always used drybrushing but it gives a dusty, dirty look to the minis. Now I'll abandon that and go for highlightning. I'm also not sure I want to use inks as they also make the paintjon look dirty/unclean.

add some flow improver (I think it is) or dish wash soap to the ink/wash .. that makes the wash stick to the recesses better ..

Of course, sometimes those are effects you want.
I've only recently discovered the use of heavily thinned out inks to soften highlights.
