Thanks RollD6. I've heard of this technique before, maybe even seen this article, and its just darn cool. Do you think it works when you "spot paint" the varnish on the the fig instead of dipping?

Yes it does. Since it is still too cold to dip outside here in Michigan, I brush on the stain with an old standard brush. I glob it on, then 'pull' it out with an empty brush, similiar to working with inks. The process is much slower than dipping, but you get the same great results.

I just finished a Skaven team and plan to post pics by this weekend.
