I made my own storage - bought a sheet metal tool box (about 1 foot by 2 foot), and went to place here where foam can be cut to size - for about $30 AUS. I did have to cut the holes the minis went in to size - but that went each hole was the right size, and it doesn't take long anyways. The box currently holds half a dozen teams, with room for another 4. I also have a thick layer at the top for my Big Guys and other large models - otherwise I could probably get at least a dozen teams in there - and the layers might fit big guys in anyways.

I bought a large-ish sized plastic pencil box and a huge roll of egg-crate foam. Logic should tell you what I did from there.
Simple, cheap and effective. And as a plus you can get the pencil boxes in your team colors!

I've made about 5 or 6 of these. The Spacemaker box only costs a few dollars and I paid about 10 bucks for the foam and I still have tons of it.
I think it's silly how much they charge for mini carrying cases. $35 or $40 Yeesh!
