I rolled a double.
What shall I take?
How about strong arm
No need for strong arm on a dwarf team. Especially since you can get Accurate on a normal roll. My ball carrier runner right now has Block, Nerves of Steel, and Dump Off. Next he will take Pass in case i need to Reroll the Dump off pass. On a doubles he will take dodge. I dont think I have ever thrown a pass longer than a Short Pass with my dwarves. And there are a lot better choices to take on doubles than Strong Arm. Personally I would prefer Dodge, Sidestep, or Guard on a doubles roll (can never have enough Guard!!!!)

Bribes + Deathroller best part of LRB 5.0 for me.
Other coaches beg to differ (non dwarf coaches I might add ^^)

Take dodge with no doubt. Use him as ball carrier.

Buy the deathroller because it will be great against orcs, buy another rr to lower your TV and spend some money in buying a bribe, so that your deathroller can play almost the entire game.

How does buying a deathroller and a RR lower your TV?!?!

Just how good is a deathroller? Is it worth inflating your tv that much for a guy that will be on for only one drive? Ultimate cage breaker sure but do you really want to field him on d?

I could wait a game a get a deathroller or buy a 4th rr.

Think I'm def buying the 5th reroll, I can see me having to make a few more rolls now I'm in the quarters.

My opponent in the next game however is a reasonably low (in comparrison) TV human team (whose ogres recently died), so I'm thinking I dont really need a death roller for that game - but if I get to the semi's I'll have another think about it.

Hmmm, now that's something I hadn't thought of. I do tend to GFI quite a bit with those guys yeah - esp when you find yourself needing to score quickly.

Just had my last game before the quarter finals game and it went rather well. All players are ok for the next game plus 4 skill ups!
These are more than likely the last skill ups these players will get as the team will be retired after this league (now a potential 5 games time as we're still being allowed 2 games a week).
Humans who like to push you off the field and foul a lot next, they TV will be around 400-500k lower than mine!

Slayer MB Normal Skill (prob stand firm as the teams I play against really like to push you off the sidelines)

Runner Bl, Kick off return, Double 5! think I'm taking dodge for a blodge surehands ball carrier but M7 is tempting. opinions?

Blitzer, MB, +1Ag, normal skill roll, thinking about pass block.

Blitzer, MB, normal skill roll, thinking about guard.

Rest of the team looks like this

Slayer MB and Stand Firm
Runner +1 Ag, Dodge
Blocker, Guard, Stand Firm
Blocker, Guard
Blocker, Guard
Blocker, Guard
Blocker, -1M, Dodge

Blocker

Slayer - yes Stand form is always good
Runner - MV7 is a gift to Dwarves

Blitzer +AG - Pass Block is unexpected so worth a try
Blitzer - normal roll I would advocate Tackle

If this was a team that I'd be taking on further your right I'd have taken the +1M without a second thought. but this is almost definitely the last skill he's going to get so I just thought that this way he's going to be able to get hit and keep the ball? M7 better for defence though I guess.

Blitzer, in a mixed league I'm sure your right. Its just that the only teams to make it to the finals are orcs, chaos my dwarves and the human team I'm playing next. A serious lack of dodge about.

Dodge, for me, wins out over +1 MV--but just barely. You can't go wrong with either Choice

Consider Sure Hands for the +AG blitzer. Makes him a 3rd runner in alot of ways..just a little slower, but better armored.
