fair, noun, a place pigs go to compete for ribbons.

Big deal. Let them moan. Only experienced teams can buy stadiums too. I like this idea.

If the idea is just for fun, make houserules and add them in to your league. I like the idea of stadiums and I like the idea of advancing fans. Not appropriate for most tournaments, but fun for a league if the rules were spelled out in advance.

Regarding fans, a fair way to do it might be to give them casualties for kick-off results AND crowd pushes, then to allow them to advance by the methods spoken of earlier. Every advance would be like an advance on a player, and would hence cost 20K.

This seems like a fair enough value. Actually, it may be overstated a bit, as crowd pushes aren't too frequent if you play decent opponents.

Based on crowd surfing it would give an undue benefit/cost* to teams like Norse that thrive on multiple frenzy pushing lots of people off the pitch.

Finesse teams may be at a (dis)advantage* because they are less likely to skill up their crowd. However you could also award completions and interceptions to the crowd. Depending on whose turn it is award spp if the ball bounces out and when thrown back in lands in a players hands. If its the active team its a completion, if its the inactive team its an interception.

*Depending on how its linked to TV.

How about having fan incentives/benefits etc, rolled for at the start of the match like Fame.

It would go some thing along the lines of;

*Roll for Fame (get +1 or +2 bonus thingy)

*Screaming Chanters (2D6 add FF, must win by 4+ points to get -1 to pass/catch/pick up ball etc in wide zones for opponent in your half)

*Hooligan Element (2D6 + FF win by 6+ for +1 to injury rolls when pushed into crowd)

*The Chorus Line (2D6 + FF, win by 4+ get a possible extra re-roll at start of each half on a 6, lasts one half only) so possibility of getting an extra RR for each half.

....and so on and so forth

Could have 2 sets of fans with different skills at each match. Each team would have their fans in 1 endzone and 1 side (e.g. behind own EZ and the left of the pitch facing the opposition). Then you bring your own unique fans to each game.
