Nah, it's just players playing "strictly" by the rules, that's what playtesting is for, to see how far you can bend the rules.
A game is only as good as its rules allow.

I like the LRB5 fouling rules, they have become more tactical in nature instead of a must-do every turn.

I agree, I much prefer fouling to be a tactical decision rather than a 'must do' every turn

I really think fouling should automatically have a +1 to armour but not injury. It is an action that has very negative consequences possibly and the +1 can be negated by defensive assists. +1 to injury should only come from D.P. I think this would make fouls a little better but not make them overpowered.

To clarify: I do think D.P. should be +1 or +1 still not +1 to both automatically or only +1 to injury.

I see what you mean, Galak. That's easy to fix, though. If a journeyman, mercenary or star player is suspended (not just ejected), then you must pay a 50,000gc penalty after the match, or give your next opponent a free 50,000gc in incentives to use against you.

Frankly, though, I'd like to see fouling more common than it is in 5th. If it gets riskier, that's fine. I'd like to see it as a situation where a team is incentivized to do something unwise, like passing the ball unnecessarily.

I agree, I think this little change could make fouling more worth it.

In some way's I miss the fouling. Takes the dirtiness out of the game, which is part of the fun.

In our league we have a house rule that all CAS's that are inflicted during blocking and fouling recieve SPP's.... makes things a little more interesting and sometimes gives players that wouldn't otherwise consider fouling a small incentive (other than removing an extra body from the pitch)

That was the way it was in 3rd.

In 5th, there's also Stab and Secret Weapons to contend with. If fouling is worth SPPs, then why not those? With Secret Weapons, this isn't a huge problem; if anything, it makes those players worth taking. If I were going to give 2 SPP for a cas from Stab, then I'd add 10k to the pricetag of any Stab player (except star players, for obvious reasons).

I think not with items..... fouling using your own body is worthy of spp's but using a tool is just not on.

stab has potential to draw me back to the Delf side if that happened

I like the idea of SPP’s for fouling (and SW’s + Stab) it will make you risk fouling with slightly better players rather than you Mercs, Journeymen, least value player etc.

But if 2Spp’s are to much what about 1 SPP for ‘unusual’ Cas’s like fouling, Stab, and SW’s?

Grogmir

(Don’t like the Idea of raising stab players by 10k though, think Assasains are already overpriced at 90k)

Fluff based reasoning ahoy....

The reason that we give SPP's for Fouling and not for SW's and Stab is that Nuffle appreciates some down and dirty play every now and again, but using weaponry is against the sacred laws as translated by Roze El and so don't accrue SPP's
