I think it goes closer to 27% as you get two block dice. This is assuming that it's a catcher (ST2) and you're going in with either a Blitzer or a lineman and have negated the assists. Not too good, but guaranteed to annoy anyone if it works.Smeborg wrote:You perhaps downplay the effectiveness of dodging into the "cage" and pushing the ball carrier into the crowd.
Although the base odds of the dodge are only 1/6, this improves quite a lot with a Team Re-roll.
In fact, if you have a Team Re-roll, the odds of pushing the ball carrier into the crowd rise to 24%. Quite good odds, surely?
[For the sad, this is (1/6 x 8/9) + (5/36 x 2/3) which is 13/54, or c. 24%.]
Hope this helps.

Since I am the one who pulled the trick I can come with some suggestions on how to beat it. It has been discussed in the MBBL forum and the consesus is: It's very hard....
I wouldn't say that Slann are broken but this move is very good! I don't know if it has been practiced with WE:s but they should be able to do it aswell.
How to stop it?
-Stuntys can dodge in and get a 1 dice blitz (if the ball carrier is a Slann Catcher) but if you have blitzers in the cage the blitzer has to avoid a Diving Tackle, which makes it even harder...
-Vamps can stare at one of the guys in the cage and then blitz the hell out of the ball carrier.
-A Wardancer can leap in and do a blitz.
-Nurgle can blitz in with a BoN and tie the ball carrier up with tentacles.
Humans will have a hard time. A catcher might be able to dodge in and block. Covering the side lines might help prevent the move. But that means a lot of open ground in the middle.
I'd say that you go bashy and make sure that there are as few catchers as possible on the field, just like you do with skinks when playing lizardmen.
Sure, you can pull this stunt with all the other guys in the Slann line up but not having ag 4 makes it harder.

Ullis - the odds improve even further under the following circumstances:
- The blitzer has Wrestle
- The blitzer has Dodge (assuming no Tackle), or
- The blitzer has Pro
In these cases the odds will approach 30.5%.
Which all goes to show that a Blitz into a cage Dodging on a 6 with a Re-roll is not necessarily to be sniffed at, provided either (a) the Block odds are good, or (b) you are desperate.
Hope this helps.
