Thats the problem i seem to have with norse vs orcs, they beat my armour, yet i can't beat theirs and end up outmaned. Doesn't help BOB are stronger, though they do start without block which can help.

Out of interest what was your roster?

I went with:

1 Thrower
2 Catchers
2 Blitzers
5 Linemen
1 Ogre
1 Apothecary
1 FF
3 RRs

This is strictly a team designed for this sort of tournament though. I am thinking of dropping the Thrower next time and maybe getting some more FF with the balance. Since he doesn't have Sure Hands, paying 20K for Pass isn't all that useful. I tend to hand-off to the Catchers mostly anyway.

What would you guys use as a starting roster? I'm planning on starting a Norse team next season but have no idea how to start. I guess tyhe problem is I can't envision any sort of offence. Norse seem badly suited to a real throwing game and I guess AV 7 is bad for a running game.

The roster I'm toying with is:
1 Passer, 2 Catchers, 2 Blitzers, 1 Ogre, 5 Linemen, 3 rr and 6 ff. The big problem is that it seems pretty risky if things go bad early. Only 11 players and no apothecary seems pretty rough.

What do you guys think?

If you start the league against any hard blocking-teams like orcs or undead, this team might be not so good...same thing happened to me today, i almost got the same roster - many casualties, even with an apothecary. Maybe save some money and only use one Catcher, or leave out some fan-factor to get some money for a medic.

Yeah, with an AV of 7 you will definatly want an apoth to suck up some casualties

I love to play the Norse, but I have troubles scoring as well. I finally just gave up on scoring and started to focus on hurting the opposing team.

1 Minotaur
4 Berserkers
1 Thrower
5 Linemen
2RR's
9FF
10K Treasury to help get the Apothecary next game

i played in two leagues with norse; the first didn't allow wizards, freebooters, starplayers and bigguys and some other house rulez but not that important for team composition
so iwent with:
4 blitzers
1 thrower
2 catchers
4 linemen
1 apothecary
6 FF
2 RR

second allowed big guys
1 ogre
4 blitzers
1 thrower
2 catchers
3 linemen
1 RR
1 apothecary
5 FF

i would tend to get those 7 positional players (4 blitzers, 2 catchers 1 thrower) with every norse team playing in a league; just to make sure that they can advance as fast as possible;
apothecary is a "must have" for every team with less than AV 8
as i found out that i always have to less RR i don't take to many of them either - it's nice to have them, but my first aim in any league(without a near ending) is to level up the players as fast as possible. winning is secondary a least in the first games
