With dark elves I use the zigg and after I get a couple of sidesteppers I switch to the inverted one. That will allow you to protect up to four guys from blitz and still keep the opponent out of your backfield (depending on the luck on the LOS)

For a leauge with that many basher teams i would go for a team with claw acces (rotters, chaos or chaosdwarf), unless its a short leauge id go for some elf team as people will try to build their teams against the other bashers!

I think two or three guys with wrestle/dodge/dauntless on your team would be awesome. Should be able to punch holes in those teams like nobody's business and skitter your whole team through em.

Skip the Assassins. Induce one maybe, but there will not be much use for them really.
