In fact I had choosen dwarfs first and started painting them, I was really proud of the results (you can see them at my web if you haven't done yet) but one weekend 5 of the spanish going to BB joined and did some playtesting, and I lost more than 5 consecutive matches. I'm not good enough with dwarves, my experience with this hard hitting team comes from only one league... Few weeks ago I played 5 turns against one of the teams who have lost against more than twice during playtest, but this time I used my lizards... only 5 turns convinced me.
Now I'm spending all my spare time painting (80% of my lunch time included). I have some lizards painted wich I can use (1 krox, 2 sauruses, 4 skinks) but they don't look good enough if you compare them with those I'm painting now... so I'll try to strip them if I find time to end all...

Well....

I've got 5 models finished now.. :D

but, after some consultation with another TalkBBer I decided to change my roster, which means I now have to convert another 2 models and drop 2 others from my original line up...

Plus, from the 25th onwards, I will be in the UK on business with no access to paint or models... So I have 6 models to paint and 2 to convert in 10 days... plus I'm still painting my new house too (bigger brushes though!)... :x

I'm averaging 5 hours sleep a night right now... getting very sle...

I had a great weekend of painting! :D

I finished all the :pissed: gloss work in my living room..... :x

So I still have 6 models needing to be painted in 7 days...

just for good measure, I'm now also having nightmares about how much painting I still have to do, so last night I got a massive 4 hours sleep... :pissed:

Norse, wishing he had just stuck with fecking stunties....

Well, just finished 24/7 on call shift this weekend. I have had 7 hours sleep since thursday, didn't get so much as a lick of a paintbrush.

Thankfully Geggster has some spare models ready to go I can borrow. Geggster is, therefore, my hero and saviour and is owed large amounts of beer by me.

Any comment from Norse on the fact I'm borrowing miniatures will be met with a steelcap to the happy sacks.

Cheers Geggster.

Last minute painting into the small hours in the preceding week of a tourney is kinda traditional. I had a heavy week before Res. 2.00-3.00am every night for a week, varnish on about 8 hrs before we left...only for JJ to give me 2 points and thereby deprive me of second place!
Funny thing was that I spent the time converting the zombie ref, making the score counter, converting the wight (my avatar) and tarting up the armour on the others, all in a fruitless bid to get the 3 points. I'd have got 2 anyway without lifting a finger! You gotta laugh..... :D

Just praying that the damned flock on my figs' bases holds out. I've redone it twice and the damn stuff still won't stay put properly.

Don't plan on using my boys before I leave, so they'll sit happily in their box until needed. Just as well - evening shift tommorrow, two shifts (saturday pm, sunday am) this weekend. Get Friday free, but I intend sleeping and playing some FUMBBL then.

I can feel the excitement building deep in my guts.
Tried my roster against some rookie orcs last night on FUMBBL. Won 3-0 because the other guy - who was very rusty admittedly - got half his team sent off. Apparently someone had told him he should foul every turn. Ironicly he got the ref on the second half kick off and proceeded to try and use my Slayer as a football. That's all my luck for the BB gone up swany then.

Got 2 more tabletop games lined up before the tourney starts. Currently W3/D1/L0 with the non-Star player roster, while W0/D1/L1 with Hakflem, so I guess he's my score counter

Deathwing: what was missing on your team to get the 3rd point? Reading the description in the rules pack i thought it will not be too hard to get the 3 painting points.

Well, i've finished all the player models i need, just doing the finishing touches on my headcoach and headfans' bases. The Blunderbuss is waiting for some detailing work, i'm still not sure wether to field him or not.

Next will be 2 additional bull centaurs which are converted and primed. If i finish them i'll bring them along to make the team look complete, but otherwise they'll just wait for the next league game.

Ah darn, then there's the legacy team gobbo ...

Tim (looking for travellers' sig ... it fits again)
