I would rule no, on the throw in. No good reason other than fluff. There is a lot of fluff about secret weapons killing off lots of fans, so I would assume that a Bomb would go off there.
(Maybe make a rule about adjusting the Gate if a bomb lands out of bounds)

Or a +1; a lot of fans will come next game to see if it happens again...

Well as far as I know:
Throwing bomb is Not a pass action.
I can remember a FAQ where that was awnsered. Maybe BBMAG 5,6 or 7 or the Annual. It must have been in the "latest" releses, as far as my memories go.
And I am not sure how to rule catching an accurate "bomb throw". Its not exactly a "accurate pass" wich would be required by the rules but its on the other hand not execatly a failed or fumbled pass. If I was to decide I would say No. The throwing player would have thrown the ball so that it is not that easy to catch, but that has to to with fluff and is not in the rules.

As Oberwald is unofficial, I'm not sure who has made this interpretation but we tend to treat Oberwald as next to official in our local league.Oberwald v4.60 says the following
4.5 Bomber
A Bomber (p30) may throw a bomb once during each of his team’s turns while he is on the pitch. It does not count as a Pass action. The player may not do anything else when he wants to throw a bomb. When thrown, roll a D6. On a 1, the bomb explodes in the thrower’s square. Otherwise work out the throw as normal. It may be intercepted. If a player catches it, they must roll 4+ or it will go off as they catch it. If they roll 4+, they may throw it again as for the original throw. If the bomb lands in an empty square or if a player fails to catch it or drops it, it will scatter one square and then explode. When it explodes, it knocks over any player in the same square, and knocks over players in adjacent squares on a roll of 4+. Make armour and injury rolls as normal.
The player holding the ball has his hands full and cannot catch the bomb.
A bomb that scatters into the crowd has no effect (on the players).
Some of the questions are also clearly answered in LRB (p.30).
Bomb is thrown "using the rules for throwing the football" and "The bomb may be intercepted or caught" so all skills that apply to these actions apply here. On the other hand I would not give +1 for accurate as it is not "accurate pass".

Bombs are quite clearly not a pass action
LRB pp 30 (3rd paragraph)
Which would indicate you do get +1 to catch on an accurate pass.
LRB pp 30 (3rd paragraph)
Also para 4A coach may choose to have a Bombardier throw a bomb instead of taking any other action. The Bombardier is not allowed to move when he throws a bomb, because he needs to stand still in order to light the fuse.
The bomb is thrown using the rules for throwing the football.
Which would indicate you do get +1 to catch on an accurate pass.

ooo, I know. Combine them. -1 on FF for each team, but +1 on the FF roll, at the end of the match. Or the opposite. +1 FF, -1 on the FF roll.Redfang wrote:Or a +1; a lot of fans will come next game to see if it happens again...
Maybe its better left as is. -1 FF for dieing fans, +1 FF for fans that want to see it next time = No change.

Intercepting bombs
What about intercepting a bomb? Does this give SPPs?
Do you make an interception roll? Then you would get SPPs:
What do you think?

I think the problem is that there is no word of intercepting the ball (as in COMP).LRB p.39 wrote:Interceptions (INT): If a player successfully makes an

missed bomb
Another bomb question:
If you miss the bombpass does it scatter 3 times?
If so and on the last square a player is standing can he try to pick it up or does it explode immediately?

Re: missed bomb
Yes, it does. As long as it isn't a fumble...Mike_Black wrote:If you miss the bombpass does it scatter 3 times?
He can try to catch the bomb. If the catch is succesfull you have to roll to see wether the bomb explodes or not. If it doesn't you can throw it somewhere else.Mike_Black wrote:If so and on the last square a player is standing can he try to pick it up or does it explode immediately?
We ruled that the crowd does throw in the bomb. We did roll the if it exploded and since it didn't it went back onto the field.
