I generally prefer Setkh (although against Norse or Dwarfs I'd waver) but ngoike makes a good point.

But, for my money, Your Blodging MA7 Wight is about a good a ball carrier as you're ever going to have...

Yeah the other part of the calculation is how effective claw will be in the match. If you're playing a low AV team, than Wilhelm isn't as effective.

heya there

yeah i've gone down the flesh golem route - it was a choice between necro or undead - and the thought of playing wolves did it for me but ithought that the flesh golems would be nice to have especially at the 100k price

anyway - my first game was against Khemri - god bless those st5 tomb guardians - yep were using the experimental rules - and my flesh golems held their own going down but only getting stunned once - thankyou thick skull :)

managed to force a 1-1 draw TD'ing with a wight

unfortunately my wolves decided to be a bit useless and not actually do anything usefull, also MV4 is slow ( used to play high elves) my zombies were struggling to get in places for the assists

hoping to save up for two ghouls - then hopefully a reroll to make 3.

but keep up the blog its nice to see how another necro team is doing

Game #12.

Against a rookie skaven team. He took two blitzrats, two gutters and one thrower, FF7 and 2 RR. He received 240 in inducements and opted for the skaven ball & chain, 2 Bloodweiser Babes (oh how handy were they later on!) and one card.

Owing to a couple of stupidities on each other's part, he set up to kick with 12 players on the pitch, and we didn't notice until turn 3. Unfortunately, I completely failed to notice that my roster wasn't up to speed and thought that my team rating was only 119, so owned up to it when I found out and we agreed to keep playing and give him his Magic Items card at the end of the drive. 12 players vs a late-arriving card seemed fair to both of us.

The B&C was set up on the line and being newly back to the game, he set up a GR 2 squares from the sideline.

Oh Frabjous Day! Calloo, Callay!

One guarding wight later, the sole remaining wolf blitzed the rat into the waiting arms of the crowd. With the golems doing their stalwart stuff on the LoS, space was freed up around the B&C for it to receive the pummelling of a (short) lifetime. It was duly sent into the KO bin, never to be seen again (well, this game anyway. And that's what was important). The ball was picked up by the blodging wight and progress up the pitch duly made.

Several turns later, he was down by one SI, and 4 KOs when my wight ran the ball in for the opening score. About now we drew his card and he awarded the beguiling bracers to one of the GRs. Then the Babes worked their magic on the contents of the KO bin and got all 4 rats out of there and back onto the pitch. Boo for the Babes.

The last few turns of the first half passed in a bit of a blur. More rats appeared from out of the woodwork than I thought was possible, and despite putting another one or two into the crowd, their soon-to-be-star GR dodged into the endzone for the equaliser.

Damn but I hate rats.

Second half was a mirror image of the first. He received, promoted the sole remaining GR down one sideline, then pulled the old 'switcharoo' play to throw to his Blitzrat on the other side! B'stard! The blitzrat blitzed my zombie who was marking said rat, and dodged his way into the EZ for the rats' second TD.

The crowd were getting a bit restless at this time, and shortly after kickoff, they were givent he chance to vent their wrath on a linerat who was pushed into their welcoming arms. Poor diddums. One stat decrease later.... Muhahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!

With several well-placed blitzes, the rats managed to shake the ball loose from the valiant necros' grip on more than one occasion. However Joey Wight scooped it up and ran it in for the last-turn equaliser.

2-2 scoreline, but 3-0 to the less-alive in cas, which is really the only scoreline that matters.

One upgrade roll for the wight (gave him MB to go with Guard) and that was it.

Team now has 100K gps to spend, and I'm thinking about heeding ngoike's advice and purchasing my first ghoul.

Yes, yes, yes. Calm down at the back there. Landrover getting a ghoul???

I said I was THINKING about it. Haven't actually done it yet.

So there we are. TR now 126 after corrections and upgrades. Most teams are around the 150 mark, with the elveseseseses looking to be the first in the league to incur spiralling expenses. Shame. :D

I'm thinking of Wilhelm or Setekh, but perhaps of taking loads of Dirty Tricks cards. Is there an upper limit to the number of cards you're allowed to take?

Later, sports fans!
