Got it, thanks. What addy are you trying to send to? My email server is setup so anything sent to an @nwnplayer.com email address gets to me.

Well, if anyone wants a laugh...

My first game v Spyke.. half way through second half...

On my team alone:

7 players S.I. or dead... 2 sent off... 2 on the pitch, both prone....

Is it just me or does Spyke have a special 'never lose' version of PbEM? ;)

And I thought I was doing badly - 3 SI, including a MNG on my Blitzer (ME!), 2-0 down, first turns of the second half. I get pushbacks all over the shop, Davin gets knockdowns. He now has enough guys that I can't stop him getting the two dice blocks in. This hurts more than I do this morning after the American Football match I played yesterday...

Well my game against McDeth ended in a 2-0 win for McDeth. A 4 turn riot at the start of the second half showed how weak the referring was (we "got him" in the first half).

All told, my wonderful team earned 5 SPPs the whole game (yup the MVP!) :(

I think Spyke has built in some logic to PbEM:

If "born in New Zealand" = automatic victory...

PS, Dave, at least you will have a team for the next game. At last count, I will only have 6 players BEFORE I roll for NIs...

I've no idea how i managed to win the game at all, at no point in the game was i ever in control, until the match winning play from my thrower about turn 6 in the second half. It was one of those games where i was under the cosh, and had to make crap or bust plays to get though. fortunately they resulted in two TD's. I'll have to review the game, as i still cant remember doijng anything tactically correct to win it,

Except of course for jinxing Dave's block dice, which seemed to roll a fair share of skulls and both players down.

McDeth..

I haven't gone through the game file... but I think my blocking wasn't too bad. I just couldn't get anyone off the pitch. The only time I remember breaking armour was when I fouled with 5 assists for a BH. I'm sure that I must have got a few more stuns but aside from the foul, I don't think I got any other players off the pitch. Also I couldn't pull off any important plays - blocking the thrower who scored - catching the ball, picking the ball up when there are oppponents nearby etc.

I made a mistake in the first half going for a foul when I should have kept more players defending the ball carrier. This ultimately led to the first TD against - see Get The Ref can work against you (I wouldn't have done this if I hadn't got that Kick Off result).

The second TD was basically an all or nothing play by me - McDeth had the ball deep in his own half and the thrower was on his own. I sent all my guys up the pitch. However, a hole was blitzed and the long pass was made... where's the fumble when you need it!

Anyway - I have a full team next match - and with a good winnings roll and the "That Boy's Got Talent" Card - I've got 13 players!

What :pissed: me off is that I'm actually a pretty good BBer..

I've only made 1 mistake so far (aside from turning up I mean.. ) and that was fouling with the eye on me, but it was a risk I was willing to take..

Aside from that, Spyke has fixed dice, er, pixels... ;)

I think I proved my BB credentials in Amsterdam, but going into Davin'd third turn of the second half I'm 3-0 down, and 5-1 down in casualties.
I botched leaving my Blitzer fairly open at the start of the game, but then again, I did have tackle zones on Everybody on his team at the time.
I'm into desperation territory now.

I think I've figured it out: Spyke played Amazons at T5...this is his revenge on the dwarf players!

Well, I guess no matter what you do, it's still a game of odds. All you can really do is try to turn the percentages in your favor, to the best of your ability, but even 95% isn't 100%. I think the times when you luck out are a bit less evident than the times the dice roll against you. Just psychologically, when you have a 3+ you expect success, while if your opponent has a 3+ you aren't so surprised if they fail.

I'm up on Chet in the current game, and I never thought it'd be possible. ;) He's gotten some awful rolls, but to my credit, I was able to take advantage of them. On the same token, the game isn't over yet, and if Chet just keeps his players in sound positions, and doing the best he can to maximize his own percentages, if luck swings the other way he could easily take advantage of it for a win.

Which reminds me, where's that game file, Chet? ;)

It doesn't help that I've suffered a turnover on every turn, I believe, while you've likely still managed to keep both your re-rolls after 6 turns :)

And the game file will come...umm, whenever I can get home to play!

You've suffered turnovers on 3 out of 5 turns, and used up 3 re-rolls in the process (1 of which was the extra for my computer crashing). And I've used 1 re-roll. Don't be so dramatic. ;)

Hope your luck evens out though. It's kind of an empty victory if it can be mostly attributed to luck. =/

My last turn (just played):
Two guys roll over and groan.
two guys run away. One guy gets a Blitz on the ball carrier and knocks her over, but can't do anything else because he's already had to GFI just to get to a point where the block is one die. All of these are linemen. I have caused 1 casualty....admittedly a death/SI.

This is getting silly. I miss my "Don't fall over, don't get hurt" dwarves.

My turn 4. Two players standing. One of them double teamed.
realise that with a GFI I can blitz Davin'd ball carrying catcher who is going to make it 4-0 next turn.

1-reroll-1.

(this is probably a result of playing against the guy who isn't Jack Black in Tenacious D. Check out their album cover!

It's Davin!)
