Dwarf team - tough skill choice

Having lost 2 dwarf blockers on my last match against simple amazons (1 dead, 1 -MV), I'd suggest getting a 13th player before the DR. I even had another dead on the first turn, saved by the apo. Shit happens.

I highly recommend Jump Up for the slayer. I have an Agility 1 Slayer with Jump UP and it works GREAT!
1) Dwarves suffer from a great lack of speed. Especially when prone, you can't get far. Jump up lets a prone slayer still have 5 movement...a great boost to speed.
2) even with agility 1, my prone slayer can make a block 1/2 the time...and most coaches don't even consider that the prone guy could possibly throw a block. With agility 2, you have a much better chance (2/3) to throw that block. Just because a skill might not work some of the time does not mean that you shouldn't consider that skill. (think pro)

First of all, thanks for all the answers so far
! Most suggestions go to Side Step or Jump Up and I must admit both look good too (even though JU is much nicer on AG3+ players).
And it seems that no one is keen on Diving Tackle on a Slayer... Is it really not worthwhile taking? I think it has great use and Diving Tackle really becomes better the more people on your team have it.
So, please keep it coming, your input is highly appreciated

Of course it's nice to have both Tackle and DT on the same player but the nice thing with Dwarfs is that you have plenty of Tackle around and the combo Tackle/DT also works when the skills are on separate players.
I can see that Side Step is a great skill on a Frenzy player but what makes me hesitate is that I can get Stand Firm on the next roll which is almost as good. DT/Frenzy/SF is just an awesome combo when you play the sidelines as they can't push you out and can't get away from you neither.

Its the repositioning threat, that even if your are knocked down they aren't sure where you will be that means sidestep is definitely worth the extra 10k.
On top of which the uncertainity they get from hitting your troll slayer may mean they don't him them at all - and I know when I'm playing against dwarves I normally blitz the troll slayers for preference (unless I can hit a runner).

Just my 2 cents worth, but I usually play Dark Elves or Humans. The biggest advantage over any Dwarf team I usually have is speed. So, anything that a Dwarf team can do to make themselves faster is bad for the other team. I really think Jump Up is a great skill to give any Dwarf other than a plain lineman. Sure Feet and Sprint come to mind as well. The faster they are, the more difficult to deal with.

I do have JU in my Orc team on a Blitzer and it's really nice but she's AG3 and AV9...
But your argument of the advantage of higher movement on your DE-team also speaks for DT: it doesn't make the Dwarfs faster but having 6x Tackle and 2x DT really constraints their opponents manoeuvrability. On offence I can play a "wider" cage and on defence I can blitz down on potential receiver and mark 2 more with a Diving Tackler. Also the common tactic for slowing down cages (i.e. dodge away one square) also becomes much more difficult.
