Ogre w/Dodge got Doubles Again - Advice

Post by Nosuphoru »

My Ogre on my Human team got doubles his first skill increase, so I gave him dodge. I was thinking that an eventual block/dodge Ogre would not only be evil in its own right, but more resiliant givin that he is such a big target on the human team (that was also before Pro was a trait). Now upon his second skill increase, lo an behold I roll doubles again. I am thinking long term and also assuming there is no way the cosmos should let me get doubles again, so should I shoot for an Ogre with:

A) Dodge, Pro, Block (Simple and reliable)
B) Dodge, Stand Firm, Block (Those block dice have no effect on me!)
C) Dodge, Side Step, Block (Really, really annoying)
D) Dodge, ???, Block
E) Something Completely Different

Blodge, Stand Firm, Guard is nice. But Frenzy is the obvious choice!

You could go stand firm and aim to get break tackle as well as gaurd (a big ask I know). With that combo you could dodge some way into an opposing formation to wreck bloody mayhem with the rest of your team.

I don't have to be faster than the Ogre, just faster than you!

Stand Firm or Leader. I recommend SF.

Pro makes him a highly reliable player. I'd go with it.

I would go stand firm. Seems to fit better with an Ogre as well.

I'd consider Frenzy as well.

With your doubles again and the first doubles given to dodge i would take stand firm now.

Pro, since you dont have block and the inevitable double skulls or skullflash will pop at least once a game with this guy. I find big guys are usually more of a liability and so when you really to get a reroll on him you'll be alright, or least have a shot at it.

Blodge+ pro is awesome in my opinion. Maybe after that give him break tackle or standfirm to really make him a beast.

Well, I guess it really depends on how you use the big guy. If you use him mostly to get in other people's way, then go with the Stand Firm for the eventual Blodge SF Guard irritation. If you want him to be an active blitzer/cagebreaker someday, go with Pro.

Since you've already got Dodge I'd take Stand Firm. Get Break tackle and he's really hard to stop moving
