Wight with Niggling

Post by Willi »

In my Necromantic team one of my wights finally got a skill and rolled AG+1
But than aging: Snake eyes

So what to do? He is the only one with a niggling, and it is the 4th skill of the team (2 ww with block, one with jump up).

Retire him and buy a new one?

Na, one niggle won't hurt.
Take your time to build op the team further, then later on you can always retire. Allthough I would think about that twice with an AG increase!

Dilemma!, I wouldn't retire him for a while though, not with one niggle and AG4. He's very useful for your team now, the best way to work towards his retirement is to give him some really annoying skills. This guy deserves to exit in a bag/box/urn not by being sacked.

niggles on undead teams suck. they don't have the apoth to make sure they show up to game. especially a high price player like a wight. once he gets a couple more skills if he niggles out you're screwed.

Problem is, that with his AG4 he would be a good Thrower now, but the problem is, that he would take all the SPP for throwing from the ghouls :(

I would also keep him for a while using him as a dodging monster, just dont take away SPP from the team with him ;)

I'd keep an +AG wight - if he gets another niggle drop him .

I'd use him as middleman for a while... Pick up the ball with a ghoul, toss it to the Wight 2+ catch, let him run/dodge and hand of to another ghoul who can then score.

He won't grab any starplayer points, and will assist your team greatly in earning SPP because of the 2+ catch instead of 3+.

Other than that, he's a reliable Blitzer even if he is in a tacklezone, something Undeads badly need, so I vote for keep him, but don't be afraid to place him in suicide positions.. need someone to tie up opposing Mumies or Claw Warriors? he's your guy if anyone is.

Thing is, I had something similar happen to a wolf, but no where near the money to replace him. So I kept him on board and renamed him Kick Me or something. Soon enough he died. Bit too soon actually, had to do one match with only one wolf and then bought a new one. Simple as that. He only missed one out of 4 matches (due to being dead) with terrible winnings and then was replaced. A niggle really isn't that bad, that necromantic team has a MA7 niggled wight which I won't replace for a long while yet. He's niggled out once and that's not the end of the world for my team.

The same will be the case for your wight on your undead team, as long as he makes up for those missed matches by doing important stuff in the matches he does play he's worth it. Plus, you now have an expendable blitzer :D

I've never understood why coaches think niggled players need to be sacked immediately. They only miss 1 out of 6 games. I hardly consider that threatening to the entire team's ability to play.

niggles on undead teams suck is my point. Because if they just so happen to niggle out in that important game.....there is no apoth to guarantee they play.

But once you can groom a replacement.....I'd sack him.

Do you ever actually do this? I don't think I've ever done it (apart from accidentally on FUMBBL) and the only circumstance I'd do it would be if I knew the team was never going to play again.

Well if you only have one niggling it's not really a problem, most teams can do without a single positionplayer, the real problem comes if you in a following match gain one or more additional nigglings in the same game.

This leaves you with two or more nigglings, and probably not enough cash to replace even one of them instantly, so your left with two nigglings next game. Any team loosing two or more positionplayers due to nigglings is in for a hard game, and besides, you now face the challenge of replacing two-three players with rookies, wich is hard at higher teamratings.

Hence Nigglings are best sacked when they niggle, unless they are special players with stat-increases or many doubles.

Edit/
And besides, a player with a niggling still hog SPP, and if he then gains another Niggling, he has hogged a lot of SPP, and will now stay away 1/3 games.

If he passes it then keep him. Its when he fails it once that makes you retire him. I have a wight on my necromantic team with a niggle of course my team has a lot of skills but I keep him around b/c he has tackle, and pass block. But if he fails consider him fired
