Strength skill only for big guys: Block or Pro on Double?

Post by harald »

I rolled a Double6 on my human team's ogre. I wont be taking Strength since I recon either Block or Pro is far more valuable. Anyone done a statistical analysis of Block vs Pro vs diff in ST5v and ST6?

Thankful for all responses

I'd still take the STR, just 1 assist and you're throwing 3-die blocks against normal STR 3 players. Once opponents pick up block (which they will) a 3-die block without the block skill is better than a 2-die block with it. Besides a 6 STR player is very hard to deal with, if he gets guard next he'll be a great asset for the team.
And if you really don't want to take the STR then take block, it reduces turnover rate and makes your opponent think twice about half-die blocks.

:o Don't turn down the strength.

The primary purpose of the Ogre on human teams is to suck up opposition players (unlike say a Rat Ogre or Minotaur which are designed to blitz).

S6 is great at that because it means one more assist for them to get 2 dice and 2 dice is pretty tough for S3 teams anyway.

Also S6 means you only need one assist for 3 dice which is nearly as safe as 2 dice with block - and its better at knocking people over.
