Converted Orc Team

Post by transpennine »

Hello,

I have recently finished 'converting' an Orc team out of 40k Orks [original I know...] but I don't have anything with which to make Black Orc Blockers... Any suggestions are much appreciated although the simpler the conversion the better really as I'm not too skilled at it... I was thinking that for one or two of them I could perhaps use this Orc and just cut away his weapon... http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront ... orignav=13

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Cheers.

That should be ok, normal "fanasy battle" black orcs do fine too. Straight weapon snips and bob's your uncle  ....(please excuse painting - done years ago! )

Just what I was looking for! That's great. I wondered if it would be possible to use the Black Orcs with 2 hand weapons and you've shown me it is! Ta.

As for your painting, it's a lot better than my own although your choice of team colours is very similar! :P

For my orc team, I am using orc Nobz and they work out just fine. I would show a pic of them, but I don't have a camera.

OK, another question... My throwers currently have no balls [ :-? ] and I'm curious as to how people go about building their own bloodbowl balls. Do you folks just use green stuff? I've tried a couple of times now to use green stuff but I just cannot get decent looking balls that are small enough to fit the Orcs' hands and trying to cut the ball down to size is impossible! Is it just green stuff trial and error or what? Can I buy balls anywhere?

Can anyone help?
Ta.

Cut the whole hand off a metal Orc thrower and attach it to your one... :)

Yeah, if you can do what Nazgit says, its much easier. I have spent the last few days greenstuffing a ball, its not easy. I think the trick is to do it in layers, dont try to get the football shape straight away, it will NEVER happen (at least not in my experience), start with a cylinder and then add to it until you have the right shape.

I've converted a team out of 40k and gorka morka orcs - like suggested before, using the hands of the plastic orc players is so much easier than any other way :
