Blocking Dice Question.

Post by Dino1626 »

I did a search, and about drove myself insane. I am waiting for some blocking dice to come in, but I know there is a way to play using standard D6. Can someone tell me which numbers match up to which results on the blocking dice? Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Dino

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

But you can easily substitute the numbers. It matters not.

Yeah, you can play it any way you want, as long as it's written down so both coaches are in clear agreement on what's what before the game starts. Personally, when leagues I've been in have had to resort to using basic d6 rolls for blocks, we'd use:

1= Skull
2= Both down
3= Pushback
4= Pushback
5= Pow/Dodge (explosion with !)
6= Pow (explosion)

There are standardized positions for which numbers appear on which face on a regular d6, and Darkson's list may well match up with that; I don't have the dice on hand to look at the moment. But we found it easier to simply count up, matching lowest-to-highest to worst-result-to-best.

there are several different kind of block dice .. they all have the skulls, pows, pushes etc on different relative places if compared to a 1-6 D6 ..

True... which means my way of doing it makes even more sense now! ;) Just kidding; the point is that as long as both coaches agree on what the table's going to be, it doesn't matter what it looks like. For us, we just felt that making the "6" be the best result, and working down from there, felt most natural alongside the rest of the rules. But that's the beauty of house rules: to each their own! :)
