Having Problems in New Bloodbowl League..

Post by lutherblue »

Hello,

I seem to be having some serious problems in my new bloodbowl league. I am playing a dwarf team, and have just finished the two allowed Exhibition games before the season.

I lost the first game 2-3 and the second game 1-0.

See, i play the dwarves, and well.... I seem to be having some issues.

As of right now i have the following.

2 runners
2 blitzers
2 trollslayers
5 Longbeards 1 with guard
1 apothacary
15k in the bank
3 rerolls and 4 fanfactor

My first game was against skaven, and it seemed like he was throwing me off the ball. I alway choose to kick when i get the coin toss, and my defense just isn't cutting it. Anyone have any ideas for a decent set up?

My second game was against orcs and i couldn't hurt him to save my life. I swear i need a can opener for those guys. They make dwarf armor look bad.

I could really use some tactical advice on where to set up, and some keys to being effective as i just don't seem to be getting the casuaties or scoring enough.

Cheers,
Bert

When playing a fast and low armor value team as skaven you should really choose to receive the ball. Then protect it and beat the living daylights out of the other team. If done the right way you should be able to score in turn 8. If you're not succesful in bringing your opponent down in numbers then you are in trouble

Defending against skaven (any other dodgy team) make sure he always has to dodge past a long beard. Keep two of them in the back of your wide-zones for this purpose. With luck one of his gutter runners fails a dodge forcing him to either waste a re-roll or leaving the gutter runner prone to a foul. Put long beards on dodgers to pin them down. You need some luck against fast and agile teams, but should be able to beat them off the pitch.
