Minotaur in a CD team (so, shoot me)
Likely that i'll go with this in the Club Challenge (1.1M - random skill rolls for players)
* Mino
* 1 BC
* 6 CDs
* 4 Hobs
* Apoth
* 3 RR
* 2 FF
My questions Guys - how/where to use the Mino? Do i stick him on the LoS (no use of Horns unless i dodge out first - not going to happen!) or use him as a blitzer?
He's movement 5 - do i have to GFI if i roll pushbacks once he's gone his full distance?
Frenzy - a two edged sword. I forgot that i had to follow up which can draw him out of position
Defence - would you stick him at the back (Strong Safety type), mix it up at the line or something in between.
Many thanks, D

using wild animals if you want them to move, then move them 1st (assuming no dodge and not blitz). Then you know straight away if the role is successful. If it is: great, the mino is in the position you wanted. If it failed, it failed bfore you moved the rest of your team so you can move other players to cover.

Cheers - you also lose your blitz action for the turn if you fail WAstormmaster1 wrote:using wild animals if you want them to move, then move them 1st (assuming no dodge and not blitz). I don't really like the mino on a cd team but it can be a great asset (if only psychologically) if you're running a cage next to the sideline. Your opponent can't ignore a str 5 frenzier that way, or risk a crowdsurf on some of his players.

not having 2 BC is a misstake and a Chance for the other Team to ruin your game by kicking out one member of your team, because without a BC the CD Team is nothing moren then weaker Dwarfs. So you should always have 2 BC on your Team

So what are you saying, 2BCs and a Mino? (which was Plan A)?Aksho wrote:not having 2 BC is a misstake and a Chance for the other Team to ruin your game by kicking out one member of your team, because without a BC the CD Team is nothing moren then weaker Dwarfs. my CD team, came 3rd last tounrey was:
2 BC's
5 CD's
3 Hobgobs
Mino
2 re-rolls
so much fan factor...3 i think
you need 2 BC's. what makes CD's have a serious advantage over dwarfs is that CD's get the BC's, which can move up to 9 squares, and are st 4. you NEED!!! 2 bulls.
keep in mine this was a tounrey - no apoth. also, it was TR 100.
Id lose the 6th CD in your team and a hobgoblin for the 2nd BC

My team at Brassbowl 2005 :
1x Mino
2x Bull Centaur
6x Chaos Dwarf
4x Hobgoblin
2 RR
FF1
Strong point : 13 players, including all the positionals : this is thé strongest, toughest line-up any team can field.
Weak points : only 2 RR's, FF1, no apothecary
When receiving, I try to use the Mino to blitz opposing players in the crowd (using Frenzy). This doesn't happen very often, good coaches don't give you that opportunity.
When kicking, the Mino invariably gets the center spot of the scrimmage.

If you can play the specific game needed, Norse was pertty fierce at two tournaments with his CD's, and even won the Flemish Foul Fest.
No Bulls.....
Mino, CD's, and padded with Hobgoblins.
I played against it at the Streetbowl (granted, a slightly different format), but from what I saw, it's generally a question of messing up your opponent by blocks and fouls, and sauntering in for the 1-0.
The key is that you have a lot more cash to spend (40k vs 130k), and 'only' sacrifice some speed and ST, but with 6 CD's that should not be too much of a problem to rectify.
I can't see myself playing that style, but I know it will work for some.
