We always had the coach of the player who was hurt does the reroll. It symbolizes how well his apothecary is. And in my case its usually death

We've always played it as the coach that's lost the player makes the Apo/Regen roll, unless they ask the opposing coach to do it (like the time when my first 8 dice rolls of a game were 1's!).
