This is a rather silly question that has an obvious answer to me, but my league is currently arguing over the answer so.
If you have a time based turnover and are mid pass (interception and accuracy rolled already but not catch) what happens to the ball?
Yes this situation has come up, most of us feel that the action should be completed and the catch rolled…but there is some disagreement.
Thanks

When we do timed matches (due to time constraints etc) we always allow the current action to be finished if it's still obviously in motion.
So in your example we'd finish the catch roll and then pass control of the turn to the opposing coach.
Yes doing this has sometimes resulted in a truely insane final play from the player currently taking it's action. But that's actually quite fun.
Really it's up to your League Commish to make the final descision and once it's made that's it, no backsies.

there in lies part of the problem, while most of us feels the action should be compleated the commish feels the ball hangs in the air untill taht players turn starts again...this has led to rather harsh words and some talk of a vote of no confidence. I was hope for some kind of quasi offical rulling to defues the situation.

Consensus...
B - the consensus seem to be to either to stop using timed turns, or to continue the action...which was what we were doing. I think we should just keep doing that.
Bloodbowl is the only game I can think of where you have to ignore the rulebook to make the game playable. Is there some other forum you can ask and get an actual official ruling?

Hmm, my instinct would be to do as lucifer has suggested...ballad wrote:there in lies part of the problem, while most of us feels the action should be compleated the commish feels the ball hangs in the air untill taht players turn starts again...this has led to rather harsh words and some talk of a vote of no confidence. Seriously, your commish is being really daft here. Leaving the ball in the air like that is really untidy and pretty much against the spirit of every other situation like this.
If you want a quasi-official solution just look at every other situation involving a turnover and the ball. You always roll to find out where the ball comes to rest before the next players turn. eg. Failed pass, scatter the ball, roll for catches, bounce failed catches. Same if the ball goes into the crowd or the ball carrier falls over.
Why should this be any different?
I hope you get your commish to see sense on this.

Fen is correct - a turnover means your turn is over, but the other players turn doesn't start until the ball has come to rest on the pitch.
But seriously, if the commish is going to be such an ass like htat, I'd look for a new commish.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
