LRB5

Post by NightDragon 2 »

Just downloaded and read the new rule book. What is the rule that stops teams becoming too powerful?
This latest edition looks initially very good and I might revert to playing official rules again.
When did ageing go, and good riddance to the worst rule ever invented in BB?

It's a combination of the other teams in the league, inducements, spiraling expenses and the casualty table.

We've found that one team pulls ahead of the rest for a while and becomes the team to beat, but then they have that brutal match, lose several players and then get pulled back towards the pack.

Just about every team has slowed down in development since it hit 2 mil though.

Still pouring over it. I am glad to see the old magic card system back. Is that new to LRB5 or was that introduced earlier and I am behind the times again? So basically your advice is that I can now scrap my TR Cap of 300 and the teams will not get too powerful?

If you follow the standard spiralling expenses set out the teams will be lucky to hit 3mil.

iirc the 'cap' that spiraling expenses manages to even the teams out at is around 2.5 million

Teams get up to that amount and then kinda hover as their income is pretty much gone and they're only able to replace players once it drops enough to get more cash.

Our teams have gotten up to between 2.1 mil and 2.4 mil and we're hovering around there. Next season will pretty much determine how far up any one team can get.

What is the usual TR when the teams hit these costs for DE's?

DEs have got a good deal in the new rules. Dauntless is a prime pick for Blitzers (and anyone else), and doesn't cost a double. This helps to tackle one of their major weaknesses.

Sorry to interrupt. I just downloaded and read the LRB 5, and the whole spiralling section is a little new to me. This whole thing is designed to keep teams from over developing? Right?

Just wanted to verify. Alot of rules seem to be improved. Ageing is gone now? Like the injury change. FAME is something I will have to get used to also.
