Lizards for Resurrection Tourney

Post by Rabid_Bogscum »

Hi guys,
Just want a bit of advice im entering Euc Bowl 06. Played last year quite successfully with the following team. Its a 1.1k roster.
5 Saurus
7 Skinks
4 Rerolls
4 Fan

I only have 5 saurus painted so im limited somewhat in choice, have 9 skinks painted however. Should I alter this setup in any way? Its resurrection so im not worried about an apoth.. should I consider another skink for a reroll maybe? The two games I lost last year were a 2-1 dice nuffling to necro.. and a 3-0 smashing by dwarves.. never stood a chance there.

The rules have changed for skill choice. I allocate 4 normal rolls, and 2 doubles to the players of my choice (cant stack em), and keep the exact same team for the whole tourney.
Tempted to go for block on 4 saurus and 2 skinks... have a few other ideas. I need atleast 1 Break Tackle I would think, and I might opt for a surehands skink instead of block. Should I consider anything else? Frenzy on a saurus, or tackle/strip ball considering there will be a bucket load of blodgers running around I would think.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Get painting! With that lineup I'd recommend the apoth - the 1st BH skink can be revived or you can keep a saurus going if someone takes them out.

For skills I'd probably give one skink Strip Ball - the stunty dodging into the cage will be a worry for a lot of teams. The other double should be either block or sure hands on a skink.

For the saurus a combination of block, guard, break tackle & tackle maybe? Or just 4 mighty blows :D

A pity you aint got the extra Saurus, I think a 6 Sauri, 6 Skink, 4 RR is THE best roster.
I would take 2 Block Sauri, 2 Break tackle Sauri, a Sure Hands and a Strip ball Skink.

Good luck!

well i took my 5 saurus 7 skink option 4 rerolls 4 fan
2 break tackle saurus
1 block saurus
1 tackle saurus
1 frenzy saurus
1 surehands skink

went ok 3-1-2
had big wins over ogres (7-1), skaven(4-0), and undead(4-0) (with count)
1-1 draw with norse first up (very much a dice rape robbery this one)
and lost to the lizardman nemesis dwarves.. twice.. an unlucky 1-0 and a 4-0 drubbing.
Picked up 5 RIPS as well and drew for top death dealing team. (lost on sportsmanship). they all worked.. frenzy failed a few crucial blocks but killed an ogre crowd surfing and took out a leader reroll skeleton. Block guy was gold. Tackle was useless for 3 games, but was handy vs skaven and brilliant against the 4 blodgers in the undead team. 2 break tackles helped big time on manuevering, and surehands skink saved many a reroll.. but didnt come up against any stripball.
