I am planning on playing (and currently building) a Chaos team next season. I am looking for advise from experienced PBBL Chaos coaches how to develop my team.
What do you take as skills for your beastmen and warriors. What has changed compared to LRB4?
E.g. in LRB4 you wanted to have a Beastman with Big Hand. Now that this skill is reduced in effectiveness, how do you develop your "pickup-man"? Sure Hands? Extras Arms? Big Hand?
How has the change in skills affected your overall skill picks?
And what do you recommend as a starting roster?
My starting roster would be:
You have to have a minimum of 1 Fan factor to start, and I belive the re-rolls for chaos are 70,000, not 60,000.......
The first couple of games are going to be a little lean, trust me......One of the early drawbacks of chaos is that their players really dont start off with any skills, so you pretty much are using rerolls to pick up the ball or re-rolling blocks where you rolll the both down result and none of your guys have block...........
Beastmen on regular rolls I take sure hands on 1 to start with, doubles I take dodge on any of them, gives you more options.
Then the rest of the beasts, I take a mixture of block and guard to start with to get you able to use more 2d blocks.....But you really need 4 RR to start with.....Then on the Warriors, I like getting Block, Stand Firm, and Mighty Blow, claw on doubles is always fun.....These guys are the muscle of the team and are there to do damage.........Then gradually build the treasury and buy the warriors and then a minotaur, by then a lot of your beasts should be pretty developed by then. The beasts are the heart and sole of the team..........You should buy an apothecary somewhere in there to protect against disaster, but chaos AV is pretty good........
Once you get going, you can specialize the guys with tackle and strip ball, and stuff like that.......Try to use the blitz with beasts so you get basically a 2nd st4 guy when it is your turn........Also at the start of the half you get the ball, have the guy that got the MVP the last game throw a quick pass and you will skill up guys faster this way too.....
Oops my bad............ I am in a league and using PBBL 1.10 rules so that must have changed a bit, I saw PBBL in the title and didnt look close enough........I would still go for 4 rerolls on a chaos team though, they really need them........In that case you have 40 extra thousand, upgrade one beastman to a chaos warrior, and put 20 in the bank instead of the ff of 2 so you can save up for more stuff like an apothecary or the other 2 chaos warriors......If it is a longer season, you might as well take the extra reroll now, cuz it will cost double later, and you really do need as many as you can get with chaos..........
I know the basics of Chaos. I am looking especially for skill advice in PBBL, especially considering that mutations are now normal skills but not as effective.
I have not played them yet under PBBL, but I would consider first giving them standard skills like Block and Guard. 1 should get kick soon, same to DP.
Get 1 or 2 dedicated ball carriers giving them sure hands after block instead of guard. (These guys dont have to do the TD, but get the ball at least near the endzone).
CW should get killing skills like mighty blow, pilling on, and claw.
Beastmen should become specialist like sweeper (tackle, wrestle, maybe frenzy), ballcarrier (statet above + big hand, extra arms), assists (block, guard, standfirm) maybe catchers (extra arms, dodge...). A funny thing is giving passblock with VLL, or VLL, leap, strip ball.
