Thrud in LRB 5

Post by Jelmer »

I was wondering... are there any leagues that are using or will use Thrud as a houserule in LRB5? How did you adjust him?

From 1.9 (before he got pulled)

Thrud the Barbarian 100,000 6 6 2 9
Skills: Loner, Block, Bone-head, Break Tackle, Easily Confused, Fan Favorite, Horns, Mighty Blow, Thick Skull
Plays for everyone

Easily Confused (Extraordinary)
This player enjoys playing Blood Bowl so much that he can get so
engrossed in the game that he often forgets what side he’s playing on!
The problem is often compounded by the fact that players trying to point
out that he’s playing on the wrong side will be struck to the ground as
soon as they get within this player’s earshot. After each drive roll a D6.
On a roll of 1-3 this player will think he’s playing for the other team
(doh!). Give the model to the opposing coach to set up and he must treat
this player as his player until the end of that half or the next touchdown
has been scored. In which case roll a D6 again and on a 1- 3 This player
will swap sides once more – follow the rules above. The opposing coach
must use this player even if this takes his roster above the usual 16
players allowed! Note it is quite possible for this player to swap sides
numerous times in the match! Also note you must roll even if this player
is in the dugout and/or injured.

Fan Favorite (Extraordinary)
The fans love seeing this player on the pitch so much that even the
opposing fans cheer for your team. If this player is on the pitch your
team receives a +1 FAME modifier (see page 19) for any kick-off table
results but not for the winnings roll.

I think I'd rather have the re-roll. (100k not spent on thrud.)

But I'm an old fuddy duddy who dislikes giving my opponent anything I paid for so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

I'm definitely considering adding Thrud back into my league, but since I run a semi-democracy I'll be asking my players whether it would be a good idea. Personally, I like the sheer chaos of it! :D

No reason not to. He was removed because of liscencing not because of a balance problem. And he's alot of fun.

Hell, if I allowed Stars in our league (and I won't), alongside the Secret Weapon Gobbos, Thrud would be the only one I would let in.

Thrud is still in our league, and we'll be using the most recent version (in ianwilliams post) under 5.0 as a houserule, barring a major objections with weight of numbers on their side. He's making more and more appearances as time goes by, so there's no way a licencing problem is going to stop this musclebound numbnuts from wreaking havock around our pitches.

If I house-ruled him I would probably give him Juggernaut too. :)

We didn't make any houserules so far.
But next season we'll add some but so far Thrud won't be in it....

Bah! More fun to bug you, besides I never see Sean. As for the LRB6 stars, eh. I'm not overly thrilled with them, but that's probably because I don't really care for any of the test teams to begin with.
