Doing a complete 180

Post by Khankill »

This is a house rule we have used in my area since our very first game. After a player has finished his action, He is turned 180 degrees to show that he is done. I was just wondering if anyone uses this or any other method to mark that players have acted during a turn.

I've heard of this before (well it was 90 degrees but anyway...) and my league never really warmed to it. We did make one or two coaches do it as they were notorious for double moves.

In my league we turn them 90 degrees when done playing, and 180 degrees when they have no tackle zones (i.e. bonehead or hypnotic gazed).

Pariah: how do you keep track of who's moved or not then? Seems to me you could easily forget, especially after a few beers....

we always turn them around too. It's not really a rule just a convention to keep track of who's gone.

In our league coaches turn players either 90 or 180. I normally turn them 90, but at least one of my opponents asked me to turn them 180 since he had difficulty telling Dragon Warrirors from Line Elves.

When I first saw this I just thought - its brilliant. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone who doesn't already do it.

Well we use Excel team roster sheets (with skills etc) which also have 16 small squares for each player - turns 1 to 8 for each half. Once a player has moved, blocked or taken his turn then the appropriate square is ticked and he can't be moved again.

Works like a dream.

We've always used that rule to show who has moved. 180 turn after finished moved isn't hard to do and works very well to keep track of things.

We do the same, although I just turn mine 90 degrees. Seems silly when they look like they are running downfield backwards ;)

Oh I don't know, people tend to like facing my warrior nuns from either direction. Either it's cleavage to get lost in, or you're looking up a bunch of cheeky new faces. Win win I say! :smoking:

As Ian mentioned we always "tap" our players to show they've been used. I'm with Balrog in that I prefer to turn my players 90 degrees and turn boneheaded or hyp gazed players 180.

It's worth mentioning that almost every tournament game I've played, coaches turn their players when done. It's just good manners/sportsmanship.

We also require "taping" of players in the GSC. Turning 90 degrees after finishing their move just keeps it simple and straightforward. On a side note, our Tapping term came directly from too many former Magic payers. As much as we try to stamp out our psycological scars from that game, they keep sneaking back in.
