Blodging Norse Runner, just rolled a 6+4. MA or AV!?
Title says it all really. AV would be nice to keep him alive, but he does already blodge, so is hard to get down. MA would give him a nice bit of speed, and i've found that MA7 to MA8 does really help. What to do?

Go for the extra mobility.
More MA will help you win more games by squeezing past most blitzers. The extra AV will make you feel like your runner is less vulnerable than he really is.

Yeah, Runners are the only players I'd even consider the +MA with on a Norse team. But I am leaning that way beacause he would then have the extra mobility (combined with the dodge) to make more of a nuisance of himself on Kick Off blitzes, deep kicks etc and that is the way i like to play-he's no wardancer, but he's as close as I'm gonna get.
AV would be nice, but I can see myself being tempted to go after big guys with him, given the dauntless, blodge and the extra "security" of AV 8, but i know that would end up getting him killed...
I've already a Snow Troll and 4 ST4 players, so I'm not really lacking in strength.
It really is a 50/50 though...[/b][/i]

I was glad I took the AV, especially as he out-lasted the original runner on the team, and the originals 2 replacements!
That said, I don't think there's a "wrong" answer here, it depends on how you play them. I try not to have my runners to far ahead of the rest of the team, so the AV is better for the way I play.
If you're happier with the threat of the speedm, then that suits you.
Either way, he's probably not long for the world (probably from something stupid like a halfling or [horrors!] a snotling).

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

This is a good point. For a short term league, take the MA. For a long term league, then whichever one suits you depending on your style, as others have discussed. I'd take the MA though.Meradanis wrote:Short time league: Take the extra movement. MA 8 is a great thing to have.
Anything else: Go for the AV. You don't want to see your 70 SSP Runner getting killed from a halfling blitz.
(I did this with those AV7 wood elf catchers all the time in our league, nasty little 'flings)
