Wood elf team for tourney
ach team will have 1,000,000 Gold to buy their team and each team will be allowed three bonus skills to be allocated to players in your team.
The tourney will consist of 3 games.
I was thinking of the following lineup:
2 Wardancers
1 Catcher
8 Linemen
2 RR
1 FF
Skills:
Catcher: Block
Lineman: Kick
Lineman: Dodge
What are your opinions as I haven't played in several years

Kick is a key. In fact I'd probably give it out for the first game. The Wardancers are still really good without giving them an extra skill, they can wait a game or two for it. Then one with Strip Ball and another with Tackle would be great.
If you have a decent idea who you'll be playing in the final game (for example you're in first and you know who's in 2nd
), and your probably opponent doesn't have much dodge, you might consider switching in Dauntless instead of Tackle. Otherwise that's more or less the way I'd go.

You give up a RR to get the Catch skill which you may use once per match (there's not even a thrower to throw it deep to you). You're better off with the RR.Rustycan wrote:Wouldnt it be better to drop a RR and upgrade a line elf to a second catcher?
You're also giving up +1ST for movement and dodge. That's a push. Now if you could give this Catcher Block too, then I'd say go with the catcher. But, while it's close, I'd say go with the lineman with the extra RR.

I think that the two vital skills for a new Woodie team is kick (for a lino) and strip ball for a wardancer.
Even if your opos have a sure hands player, it is still worth having a strip baller as it a) forces the sure hands player to keep hold of the ball and b) that sure hands player isn't likely to be as good as a non-sure hands potential ball carrier like a blitzer (who's faster and will have block).
Otherwise, tackle or dauntless would be good, depending on who you will be playing.

One more vote for Strip Ball (WD) & Kick (Lineman).
But I'd throw in Frenzy for the 2nd Wardancer.
Really messes with opposing deployment and has a use against non dodge players (as a three skill, three game tourney will have a bunch of them).
