Hiring a lino just for a game (Orc vs Dwarf)
I have an experienced team (2130) orc team, with some exceptional players but sadly short of a blitzer for the next game (MNG).
I normally play with a bench of 1 orc, which happens to be the thrower in defence or a black orc in offence.
My opponent is a dwarf (1810) with 14 players (inc deathroller).
I concede 320k for the TV difference, and considering this is all happening on the Cyanide version of the game I expect to see:
1x Bribe (100)
1x Grim (220)
So at 15 vs 11 and a recurring deathroller I should expect to start a drive one man down (or worse) at some point.
I'm considering hiring 1 or maybe 2 unskilled lino (50k each) and risk conceding more inducement, just so I can always field 11 players and make sure I don't end up being overwhelmed with the stunties.
Good idea or not at all?

Re: Hiring a lino just for a game (Orc vs Dwarf)
following a great advise I am now considering dropping a RR (from 5 to 4) and hire 2 linos to concede (-60 +50 + 50) only +40k TV.
It seems that it would not change the inducement for my opponent and would give me a safer option with a longer bench

The above sounds like a good idea. You have the money for it and a third lino might not be a bad idea in the long term either. 4 rerolls should be enough although you have enough AG4 players to do some crazy stuff with dodging but 4 should be enough.
Edit: Since this is Cyanide (and the list of available inducements is a travesty), how about dropping the opponents inducements below 320k so he couldn't get Grim and a 100k inducement, which is most likely a bribe. You could do that with dropping the reroll and buying just one lino.

Thanks, I will cry the day I stop playing this team, everything else is blend in comparison!Ullis wrote:Nice team!
The current thought is to take off a RR (-60) and hire 1 single lino (my third) (+50)
this brings the overall difference of TV to the gorgeous amount of 310... which is perfect.
The only SP available in Cyanide's version at this price is Grim for 220 which would leave 50k for a babe (not that great on a thick skull team of 14 players) and 40k wasted.
The alternative inducements would give my opponent no SP, and just bribe/reroll/babes which I can live with.
Push comes to shove he will have to fire RR or players to drop back his TV which would help me anyway, so i think it's optimal.

I thought there were no babes in Cyanide

Actually if I were the dwarf player I'd look to stack up on bribes. Keeping the deathroller on the pitch and fouling is probably a better option than Grim, especially if he has enough Guard to keep up in the blocking game.

They do in "blitz mode" (we don't pick the non - LRB inducements) but the apotecary does not work when you pick this modeDuce wrote:I thought there were no babes in Cyanide
