Jump Up and MV less than 3
I read through a bunch of threads and I think they comnfused me even more.
I am looking for the single clear cut answer.
If you have MV of less than 3, have Jump Up skill and are prone what can you do?

STANDING UP
STANDING UP
The only time a player can stand up is at the beginning of an
Action at a cost of three squares from his movement. If the
player has less than three squares of movement, he must roll 4+
to stand up
So, cost of standing is 3 squares. Player has less than 3 squares (i.e. the amount to pay) so he must roll. Jump Up pays those 3 squares for you. MA2 player with Jump Up may stand up at zero cost and has 2 MA left to use.Jump Up (Agility)
A player with this skill is able to quickly get back into the game. If the
player declares any Action other than a Block Action he may stand up for
free without paying the three squares of movement.
That's my take, anyway

Re: Jump Up and MV less than 3
The roll for standing is you don't have enough MA to pay for standing up.
With Jump Up ... there is no issue with the payment to stand.
Thus a player with Jump Up and less than MA 3 does not need to roll to stand up.
That was definitely the intention of saying the player could stand up for free (ie free of anything (including special rolls)) and not wording it that they could stand up for 0 movement.

Re: Jump Up and MV less than 3
Stand takes 3
Stand with JU takes 0
therefore a player with a mv of 3 can stand up and move
3-0=3
Thats how l read it

You can move (and therefore JU) as part of all the actions you mentioned above apart from block, which has it's own special entry on JU (the +2 AG roll)

The treeman is not off the hook.
+2 to AG to perform a block jumpup. Which is still a 4+
Unless you have the evil agility 2 treeman.
Little know fact that a Dwarf team whose blockers concentrated on the skill jump up and earned their name the 'weebles'.

As it concerns the treeman, making a block is probably less crucial than standing up in the first place.

Wow, just re-read the skill to be sure but as I'm afraid the intention is different I have to ask:
"If the player declares any action other than block..."
Does this mean that a tree doesn't need to roll for blitz?
After all, blitz and block are different action...

Nope, no roll needed for a Blitz.

Yes, those lucky trees that roll nothing but doubles and keep getting knocked down in positions where they can blitz
